While I am not new to the concept of nudism, I am new to the practice of it. I have long thought it quite pretentious how the industrial world masquerades around and about in clothes, as though there ever was something wrong with not wearing them. The only thing that I think is patently wrong about nudity, is how some people mischaracterize it as being necessarily sexual.

As such, I have had some difficulty in reaching out to other like minded people. The part of the country I live in is colloquially known as "The Bible Belt", and not without good reason either. You can not just walk up to any random person around here, and expect them to be accepting of nudity as a way of life. You would likely be judged harshly if you did so. Granted, there are a number of nudists that are christians, there are many more christians who are not nudists. Its much because of America's puritan roots that I think nudity isn't more widely accepted here than it is in some other countries. (Just to put things in perspective, according to city-data.com, the closest major city to me, "Charlotte, NC", has a population of about 709,000 people, out of which True Nudist reports only about 274 people as being even possibly nudist.) That, and there are also few, if any, places around here where nudists gather, or at least as far as I know of.

So here I am trying this website out to see if it might be possible to connect with some other like minded people. While I would prefer to make contact with people who are local to me, I am open to the idea of having friends from all around the world, particularly if they are a rather intelligent, and open-minded bunch of people. I'm open to learning about other cultures. Perhaps some day it might be possible for one to visit the other. I've often considered moving to a part of the world that would be more accepting of the way I would like to live.

Also, if you know of any good websites for meeting nudists, I'd love to hear about them. When I was browsing for such websites, this was the only one that gave me an impression of being at least somewhat credible. All the other nudist websites I glanced at appeared to be dubious in nature, as to suggest having few, if any active users at all, and quite possibly a number of fake profiles mixed in as well.

(EDITORIAL NOTE: Pardon the use of dashes. For some unconceivable reason it would not allow me to form paragraphs any other way. An ability you'd think you a webmaster might want to incorporate into their website, if they wanted their website to be populated with well written profiles. The ability to form paragraphs is just about as basic of a thing as the ability to form complete sentences. That and the lack of formatting options here gets on my nerves, but anyway...)
