Tyagarah And A-Bay ...

Popular Clothes Optional beaches reasonably close to Brisbane. A message board for QLD'ers to get in touch and maybe organise beach get togethers on a regular basis. All are welcome, whatever the make or model! Tyagarah = legal, A-Bay = not recognised (at your own risk).

Tyagarah closing?

Return to Discussions

Shock.. just saw channel 7 news page saying nsw national parks and wildlife service, who have jurisdiction over the beach, are closing it as a clothes optional beach from April this year. Hopefully Byron bay council designates another nude beach area.

Yes, is a shame but typical of small minded society. Looks like it will officially close on Monday 8 April.

Will be interesting to see if Byron council is progressive enough to find an alternate location.

So is Tyagarah now officially closed as a nudist beach? Anyone visited more recently?

This is a real shame; NPWS would not have even been consulted if the deviates hadn't have taken this over.

The 'technicality' of who's authority the beach was under was never a problem in the past. All assumed it was Byron Bay council. Way too many problems in the dunes and the billabong simply drew too much attention and then finally the council worked out its not even theirs...

Was the closest option for those of us who live north of the Tweed!

Would like to suggest an option for another beach but the deviates on this site would see and go there to destroy it too.

Closure has been delayed till June 30 (middle of Winter!).

Now officially no longer a clothing optional beach. Gone forever list to the sands of time!

Jess the Nude Blogger is working with QNA and folks in NSW to find another and make submission to the Byron Bay council etc.

We all have to convince Sarah Ndiaye (current mayor of Byron) and Naomi Stephens (National parks and wildlife) to reinstate Belongil and Tyagarah as nude beach areas as it used to be.

We all have to convince Sarah Ndiaye (current mayor ......

Sent them an email each. Also added that the co beaches bring $$$ from across the Qld border to their LGA!!!

Jess the Nude Blogger has a scripted email you can cut and paste along with email addresses. Or you can type your own. Or a mix of Jess' and your own. Either way just do it
