Edging over the Age of 60, and PSA Results
Return to DiscussionsOK, let me be honest with you guys.
Over 60, just retired, naked all day.
I have found myself with more time to masturbate. I started edging, and liked it. I did not ejaculate after each session. I edged frequently, and would ejaculate maybe once a week.
By chance, I had a PSA done during one of these cycles, and it came back elevated (4.2), up from 2.0. We repeated the test 3 weeks later, with the doctor instructing NO sexual activity for 4 days (no, I didn't tell him about my edging). That test came back with a 2.1.
Have any of you had similar experiences?
Honestly, edging has improved my libido. Not ejaculating every time seems to build my desire to play with myself, and certainly increases my cum size and ejaculation force. I wonder, though, if it aggravates the prostate.
I just read an article that says you should ejaculate no less than 7-8 times a month, and recommend 21 times as a goal for prostate health (in young guys). Prior to edging, my ejaculation rate was once a week.
Do you find that you have urinary problems after you ejaculate?
Your comments will be most welcome. (BTW, Yes, I did post this discussion in another Senior Discussion Group)
I am 64 and find that as I get older, I can't ejaculate as often as I used to, or at least it takes a bit more "work". I find that I really enjoy edging and do it quite often, sometimes bringing myself to climax, but often not. I find that it heightens my overall pleasure and makes for more intense orgasms. I have not had a urinary tract issues with it and have not heard anything about prostrate issues with it. It provides wonderful pleasure, so why not?
Edging is a method of stretching out how long it takes to reach orgasm, for one or both partners. Though its usually thought of as a technique for men to last longer, anyone can benefit from edging. Partners learn to communicate and completely stop sexual stimulation before orgasm. They can explore other ways to touch one another, allowing that partner to cool down before continuing. This not only delays climax but can make orgasms more intense when they finally happen.
My doctor has had me edging after a pair of surgeries to repair urethral blockage and lack of ejaculation with orgasm...She has coached me along with 2 nurses...and it was weird but helpful and now I edge 2x a week on her suggestion and have been ..."healthier" than in my 30's
Having just read through these six replies, and very interesting reading it was. I've just turned 81 and edge/masturbate every day although not to ejaculation each time. This is the first I've heard of the number of times one masturbates to effect your PSA reading.
Pre-Covid I had a test quarterly, but of course that all went 'tits up' during the pandemic. I'm coming up for my regular blood test so shall request a PSA one as well.
Just out of curiosity, how many of you who have an enlarged Prostate still have a normal ejaculation? Mine stoped a couple of years or so but I do have a much more intence orgasm.
Thanks guys
Hi,
Very interested in your findings about your prostrate condition and maturation. According to most medical opinions, masturbation is good for the prostrate and could help alleviate prostrate problems common in men our age.
Like you, I masturbate approx thrice weekly and found my libido increased. I am not sure what you mean by edging, but if it means bringing you close to ejaculations, then that's what I do too..
Would like very much to talk to you on the two subjects, if you care to.
Scott.
A few years ago my PSA was elevated from normally less than 3 to 4.4. After the "finger" test, he said my prostate felt normal. Then he asked about my sexual activity. At the time, I did not have a partner but told him I masturbated almost everyday, sometimes more. I actually masturbated the morning before I had the blood work/ PSA test. After a brief discussion of why I masturbated so often, did it affect my daily life, etc, I told him I normally masturbate before going to sleep because it helps me relax, and sometimes in the morning when I wake up with an erection. He told me masturbating can affect PSA level and told me to have another test in a month (I think) and not to masturbate for at least 72 hours before the next test. The next time my PSA level was back below 3. I get a physical (wellness exam) every year and I set no fap alarms on my phone so I don't forget. And... it's very difficult to abstain!
