Return to DiscussionsI would like to keep this thread going and update it regularly. The idea here, is as a reference. Texas is a big state and it might be helpful to have a thread that tells what is going on at any particular beach or resort. I'll do Riverside Ranch as an example.
Txrunnerchic, I have heard Crystal Beach is secluded enough. After crossing on ferry to Boliver you take the beach access turn and go back towards ferry a couple of miles. I haven't been there in years but have been wanting to make it back to there.
I ended up going to High Island area (way down the beach 4x4) spent three days camping naked on the beach. I was a great time. Meet lots of people coming and going by. Had to sleep in car or mosquitoes netting due to night bugs, flies, mosquitoes. I am going to go back again this year a few time. I will take a 'thong' this time just in case the "law" drives by. I was told it would be a good idea.
Just so everyone knows...We visited Emerald Lake Resort, Porter, Tx. on Memorial Day weekend. We camped out in a tent and the train noise was horrible. Every couple hours the trains would scream by and rudely wake us up.That being said, it is a very nice resort with a lovely lake and many friendly people. But if you visit, don't camp out in a tent. Rent a cabin instead.
