What size are yours, Jonk? I simply use the 40-mm rings from Bunnings and once they're on, they're on. Since they're a circular cross-section I wear a few for an art-deco/streamline-modern look. I think with the flexibility of rubber o-rings I was able to go down to around 37- or 38-mm ones, so not much tighter. I used to also wear multiple o-rings for a similar effect to multiple stainless rings.
I prefer the weight and feeling of the stainless rings but I have to be careful with my activities as they tend to fall off. I also have a few aluminum rings that are tighter and lighter. My daily wearable rings are made of colored plastic so that I can match the color of my shirts with my cockring.
I love the feel of my steel ring - the way it gently squeezes and tugs while I'm flaccid. It feels great to wear around all day, but I agree with others who say the steel rings can tend to slip off due to the weight. I also love wearing my leather ring with snaps. It is easier to wear all day without worrying that it will slip off.
Different materials for different purposes. I have a chrome polished 304 stainless steel triple ring that I use solely for sex activities. It's pretty big and heavy so it generally stays around the house.
When I have to wear clothing in public I have crotchless string thong underwear that holds a single chrome polished 304 stainless steel ring and prevents it from falling off when I walk around (an issue pointed out by others).
For other naked time I use a series of different sized nitrile butadiene rubber O-rings. I prefer the nitril over silicone as the silicone lube we use will attack and break down solid silicone. Nitril, while not as elastic as silicone, is still pretty flexible and is also resistant to oils and other liquids.

I love the feeling of being weighted. My shorts are very loose fitting and leave plenty of room for movement, however the very short inseam can be troublesome at times. Through the years I have tried most everything, O-rings, steel, and leather. Since I have the machinery to machine metals I started making mine. after experimenting with materials and size, I settled on bronze. My favorite turned out to be a cylinder, 25 mm inside diameter, 40 mm long, and 7mm thick. A substantial weight that fit the form of a penis.
Getting it on proved to be interesting. I could not force the head through as the length of the bronze , almost two inches , proved to be a challenge for flaccid skin. Ingenuity to the rescue, wrapping a length of painters tape around my head in a spiral and leaving a three inch tail to feed through the weight proved to work. Pulling on the tape lengthened the organ, thus making me small enough to slide through. Once on, its easy to adjust to where you want it to reside, near the top, or at the head. The perfect interior size keeps it in place no matter what.
I have worn it for weeks at a time.
