King Spa Opening
Return to DiscussionsIf someone wants to host, we may need to start a new group for King Spa Virginia........but they have now announced an opening date of Oct 13! Let's hope that stays solid and get a group meetup there soon. No updates on the Spa World men's bade pool, but they will start expanding their hours on Oct 1 from 9-9 and on Nov 1 from 9-10.
I just got back from King Spa and while it is slightly more upscale than Spa World, I was not impressed for the price I paid. It was $70 and I don't believe I got a $70 experience. The wet area is very small It's about half the size of the bade pool at Spa World. Also, the sauna didn't get very hot. It was slightly warm at best. On top of that, an old, grossly overweight man sat next to me in one of the tubs and started moving closer to me and says "feels good, don't it?" I knew what he was after but I didn't feel like getting out of the tub. THEN he started fondling me. Mind you, I was trying to ignore him. I gave no signs that I had even a remote interest in him. I said "Don't fucking touch me ever again". He says "Ok. You don't have to be a jerk about it" Uhhhh......dude, you put your hands on my penis without my consent. Yes I do have to be a jerk about it. I don't think I will be back at King Spa again.

Wow, bucknaked, sorry you got accosted at the spa. Its not cool for someone to touch you without your permission. Beyond that I think I agree with you that $70 is a bit steep for the experience. Thanks for posting about this.
Glad to hear it finally opened. The YouTube video is a little bizarre but the place looks beautiful if a bit too large for what's within each space. And are they calling the coed area the "bade pool" unlike how it is at Spa World where it's single gender? Hard to make sense of the website.
That price is steep, but I'll give it a try -- just not sure how comfortable I am now with steam and sauna with COVID-19 still going on. I have the booster, but still not sure I am ready. Do people wear masks while naked?
SO I am going to totally disagree with you on King Spa not being worth the money. True the wet nude area is smaller than Spa World, but the facility is 4-5 times larger overall. The outdoor bade pool is way bigger than Spa World, heated (yeah you wear swimsuit), way more stations and far greater water pressure on most of the jets; first floor has 6 hot rooms and a 36f ice room, that is freezing, 2nd floor has a huge restaurant with a great menu and generous portion sizes, there is also a dedicate infrared room w/23 platforms and a wood cube room (equivalent to clay ball but @73f), full media room with reclining seats, comfortable seating areas throughout 2nd and 3rd floors, massage room, swim up bar adjacent to the bade pool. outdoor lounge chairs and 3 hot-tubs.......the bade pool will be open all winter except in extreme snow.
I max out at Spa World after 90 mins-2 hours - today i was at King Spa for almost 6 and felt like I could have stayed longer.
Sure there are a few teething issues, but the staff are fantastic and they are actively working on making some changes after talking to guests. Stay at Spa World, but remember they had 2 years to fix the bade pool. the cold plunge and hot pools are still not done - they basically said screw the customers because they never had competition. Honestly for a once a month visit, I'll never set foot in Spa World again and pay the upgrade fee for a far superior experience. They also have a 1 week only $50/weekday and $60/weekend special that started today and your ticket is valid for 90 days
BTW, there are cruisey asshats everywhere, you just tell them back off before they touch you
