Epilators: has anyone tried them

Return to Discussions

So I'm thinking that I want to get a epilator rather than shaving all the time. Shaving needs a lot of upkeep and I'd like a longer lasting solution. I am however concerned that I'm too much of a wimp and that the pain of using an epilator would make me give up. I've had my chest waxed several times and each time it's only my determination not to look like too much of a wimp in front of the beautician that stops me calling a halt half way through. I'm thinking epilating the pubic area has got to be worse, and can I take it? Are any of you guys out there able to help out from your experience. Also any tips? Best epilator to buy? Best way to reduce the pain? Best way to achieve longest lasting smoothest effect? I'm also a bit unsure of loose skin areas (scrotum). Can they be used here and aren't they likely to catch the skin? Thanks

I used a razor and it shaves us both smooth as silk and noirritation. We both love the feel and the sensation when we get very close to each other public parts. You know what some people call naughty parts. they are very seb=nsative and fun.

there a special razor out, will need to google it, and pardon the name but I did not name it...The Pussy Shaver is a duel cutting system that leaves the areas silky smooth, we bought one ( generic model )from a local adult store.

If you like to wax for the first time, thats what an epilator does, if you havestrong hair growth it is better to have itwaxed by a specialist. I'm using a Brown epilator regularly my self, but only since my hair has become thinner and the roots are closer to the surface of the skin. Thick deep routed hair is really difficult to remove with a machine. It is a slow process to remove the hair with an epilator. The only advantageto waxing is that there is no messing around with the wax.To keep the pain in control it is best to cut the hair short to about 1-2mm and then move the epilator fast a few times over the same area. Otherwise it keeps pulling on it without removing it which causes unnecessary pain. To avoid infections in form of pimples, always maintain everything very clean, sterilize your skin and the epilator with alcohol or essential oils like lavender, wash yourhands and theplace where you are doing it. Lavender is said to help with the red spot rash which builds after waxing. The rash disappears after a few hours. The genital area is unsuitable for epilators. You will most likely pinch your skin with the machine and hurt yourself. To wax it yourself needs some practice otherwiseyou maybe bruising your testicle skin. Best get it done by a specialist. The silky smooth feeling without any prickleskeeps for one to two weeks. With very fine hair growth even longer. Then it will grow back. If you struggle with ingrown hair, there are products available to control this.
I prefer waxing or epilating to shaving because there is no comparison to the smoothness of waxed skin. I love it. So since a few years now, I keep putting in the time and effort and do itover and overagain.

RE: Epilators: has anyone tried them

Hi, Yes I have two different types and have tried them both. They take
some getting used to so are a little painfully at first but have
advantages and dis-advantages. For me they cause a huge ingrown hair
problem I do not get nearly as bad if I just shave but that is no the
worst dis-advantage. The worst one is if you use a rotating head type as
opposed to rotating spring type then you risk getting your sack pinched
and jammed in the rotating head, I know I have done it and it is not
fun. so you must be very careful if using the rotating head type which
have tweaser like plates that grab the hairs as it rotates. The plates
open and close as it goes around.
My advise is try the spring type first or opt for IPL which is what I will get when I can afford it
as they are about $900 in Australia for the Phillips one which is
supposed to be good. They are supposed to work well if you have dark hair the intense pulsed light kills the hair folical and after about 5 or 6 treatments on the required area over several weeks you should have
almost no hair growth ever or so they say.
Cheers
Steve

love them been using one for years ,on third one now and its the best ,Philips hp6581 ceramic head ,use it on any part of the body, just got to stretch your balls out when doing them lol ,just work on your arse with one leg on a table, seat or bath edge ,this one is top end of the market but well worth the money ,could send you photos of how good a job it do,s but this site won't allow them, the more you do it the less you feel it,also helps i love the feeling of plucking and even more , being smooth and rubbing oil all over

RE: Epilators: has anyone tried them

Hi,
I have posted to this topic before and stated I would like to get a Phillips Lumina Plus IPL machine, well I have one now! I have used it for the first time Tuesday this week and so far pubic hair growth seems to have stopped, I will need to re-do the area every two weeks for 4 or 5 times and then supposedly only every few months.
Anyway beats a razor and definitely beats Epilators and Wax, no pain just a little heat but be warned not suitable for all skin and hair colours so read up on it before you buy.
Cheers
Steve

The very thought of an epilator on my pubes makes me wince, praps I'm a softy (as well as a smoothy!). I have always(forlast 20+yrs) used a gillette razor(now 5blade fusion) and now a rechargeable philips bodygroom which can be used in the shower and is safe for pubes, penis and scrotum.
Thats my take but all the best!
