Shaving
Return to DiscussionsI use Nivea for Men as a moisturizer. It works well to keep the razor bumps and redness to a minimum. Moisturizing is a necessity if you shave your pubic area in the beginning. Once your skin becomes used to shaving, the moisturizer is not needed as much, if at all.
Lucky to have an understanding wife
Agree. When we first got together I would ask her every year or two if she still wanted me smooth, and the answer was always yes. I have stopped asking. Now, if I ask anything, it is about length of the surrounding hair. Whatever I do is fine with her. I let it grow out about three or four weeks and then use a beard trimmer it take it down to 1/8 inch.
I started shaving when I was 17 and never looked back .... I have always loved the smooth feeling, more sensual to touch, I like the look of being shaven and women have always liked it more than having to deal with being unshaven.
I shaved, epilated, and plucked. but it always grew back ... I've been using a Braun/Gilette hand held light pulse to stop the growth of hair ... it works great and is 1/10th the cost of laser treatment.
Love to hear from others why and when they started shaving.
I started in High School for swim team and it just stuck. Always shave my pits, hate the look and fell of hair there. I don't have much hair elsewhere so hardly notice when I get rid of it. Now using lotion from No Hair Crew. No more nicks and cuts, smoother skin and lasts longer.
Wanted to do my body trim last evening but accidentally selected the #1 blade (3.0 mm) instead of the #3 blade (9.0 mm) and only realised when the volume I was removing was more than expected. I like the reduced volume of hair (overall) but am less amoured with the fact that the trimming is more obvious since the hairs don't overlap each other and tend to poke through my shirt. Maybe I should just epilate it all...
