Why do I shave ?
Return to DiscussionsIve hated body hair and was shaving it off every time I could get some privacy since puberty.
Ive used lotions and potions, shaved with electric razors, waxed and everything else to rid myself of it.
Now Ive finally succeeded, a while ago a friend on TN suggested I try laser treatment which Ive been doing for about 4 months and it has worked a treat, its not cheap but extremely effective and looks and feels great.
My wife loves it, she also shaves, and says our sex life has been enhanced by a mile, it will take you more than one visit but I highly recommend it.

Hair at the genitals does have two purposes which are well-documented, though due to scientific methodology these still need to be considered theoretical, because that's simply how science works - first reason is to reduce friction during intercourse, second, hair there may help to keep the sensitive parts under that pelt clear of pathogens and dirt. There are other possible reasons (some have suggested the hair may help to avoid the spread of STDs or to better maintain genital temperature) and studies are ongoing to get a more clear understanding of why we have the fur down there. I wouldn't mind being part of that study ~ but since I'm usually hairless downstairs the scientists won't want my bald parts skewing their numbers.
Physically, many mammals are hairy here and there, and in some species, almost everywhere! Specialization of hairs is a rather fascinating subject to me (science geek that I am), and also how it starts growing in some places on the human body at certain times in life and stops during others. The dual ideas that the timing of genital hair growth- as it begins to come in at or around puberty - may be to give a possible mate the visual cue that the individual is now prepared to procreate, or that the sign of hair there on a male cues the female to a heightened virility in that male, also intrigues.
I started shaving after I really began enjoying oral sex for me. Hair in my mouth is an absolute turn off and I require my partners to be completely shaved, smooth and out of courtesy. I do the same thing but I also enjoy shaving my whole body. I'm naturally smooth but do have some hair on my legs but I enjoy the total feeling of the smooth nude
Im smooth because I prefer the look and gf loves the feel of a smooth body against hers. She is mostly smooth too.
Shaving is to harsh on the pubic area but ok for the other areas. She has suggested laser too and its something Im intending to investigate.
I had a roommate who sugfested I shave everything but my eyebrows and head. Then later on I was in a personal growth and training course. One of the things they had you do was to shave off all your body hair. The reason being to get away from fixed ideas and to get you outside of your paradigm. I found that when I shaved I felt better, looked better and felt sexier. I've been doing it for a decade now. After reading some of the comments here I probably should be looking at laser treatments. How true, nothing is worse when enjoying oral sex than getting a few pubes in your mouth, i am totally shaven all over my body and when being intimate i expect my partner to at least have shaven pubes, it feels so much cleaner and its wonderful to touch
