Rock River Vermont Nudists
A group for people who love Rock River in Southern Vermont to exchange news, information, and reminiscences about this wonderful nudist resource. A rocky New England river with several established nude swim holes in beautiful Vermont, where for the most part, nudity is NOT illegal!
Rock River this year - 2012
Return to DiscussionsI've only been to the river twice this year - very unusual for me. Still I enjoyed both times I was there.
Our 'Gods' (the great guys who do the work to keep it free and accessible for us have done a great job on the trail. It's still not easy, but it's 100% better than it was the first Sunday after the hurricaine. The trickiest area is near the entrance, but they've charted a new route over the rocks, and it's well marked.
What appeared last year as devastation is already looking 'natural' again. Those of you who haven't visited since the storm will be amazed, but the good news is that we got a lot more sandy beach areas.
The parking hasn't changed yet, although word is that they are going to change the speed limit through the parking area, and limit it to one side of the road. Stay tuned.
If you're anywhere near Southern VT, you have to visit this wonderful place!
,,Hi,
I Live in CT and this is the first I've heard of Rock River, but it sounds really nice. I joined the group a few minutes ago so i could ask some questions, but I hope to become an active member:
Where is the area located in Southern VT?
Do you have any idea how long it would take to get there from the Hartford area?
Is it primarily a weekend place, or are there usually people there on weekdays too?
Thanks,
Rom
It's in Newfane VT, north of Brattleboro. Google says 1 hour 45 from Hartford.
I've only ever been on a weekend, so can't say what the weekday would be like. Hopefully someone else will know.
I was there earlier this summer, and have to thank the guys who worked on the trails. The rock path was far easier than navigating myself last year. Definitely wear good shoes for the walk in, and something to wear wading across the river.
