Redheads And Nudism
For all ginger nudists. Because we redheads should stick together!
How do you protect yourself from the sun?
Return to DiscussionsI'm a strawberry blond, despite having significant Hispanic ancestry. I cannot tan, but I love being naked. I also live at high altitude in a sunny place.
How do you protect against sunburn? What kind of sunblock, tanning methods, etc, work for you? I'd love to find new suggestions.
Thanks,
Scott
Controlled tanning and strategic use of sunscreens. Starting early in the spring--often before the snow melts--I start with 20 to 30 minutes a side. From there I start increasing my exposure. Using SPF 4 is not beneath me. I'll use SPF 30 in key places that have sun damage from my youth. I am usually successful in avoiding burns. I had one fail this year with a pretty much an all over light burn. By being careful an getting weekly exposure, by the end of the season I can be in the sun much of the day. I managed a 5-hour hike at 9000 feet without any burn a couple of days ago, with some sunscreen in key areas. My skin seems to be in really good shape, except arms and face from the aforementioned exposure when I was young. I'll see what the dermatologist says this fall when I see her. I'm prepared for a lecture.
