Been smoking cigars for over 40 years and never inhaled. I like to puff on my cigars and make them last 45 mins or longer, depending on the size. When my cigar gets down to within a couple of inches, I decrease my inhalation and puff much lighter. I can take the cigar down to about an inch without that burning sensation on my tongue.
I've never really just chewed on my cigar. I prefer to have it lit and puff on it to enjoy the aromas. During the day light hours, I will have a mixed drink ... say, Vodka/tonic or a beer but in the evening hours, I prefer my whiskey neat or with one ice cube. While golfing, I will have a cigar and whiskey on the rocks.
But ... I don't inhale my cigars.
