Philippine Nudists
Dedicated to nudists in the Philippines who are mostly suppressed by the restrictive Filipino culture.
nudism in the Philippines
Return to DiscussionsThere are many nudists in the Philippines. They are however on a hiding. Why? Because of fear that people will condemn them and brand them as weirdos and persons with sexual hang ups. Worst, the Catholic Church will publicly prosecute them, as if they are common criminals and society's outcasts.
But why these nudists can't prove them wrong? Why continue hiding?
One day, Filipino nudists will aspire to be recognized, to be free and unrestricted by a very bad idea that being nude is always something that is sexual, something that is prone to exploitation and abuse.
But no, the prospect of one day nudist in the Philippines will be given a place in the society, accepted and practiced freely, is a welcome possibility. After all, we are a tropical country; so, why wear so much restrictive clothing when you can be comfortable in the nude?
I'm Geoff, an expatriate Australian with a Filipina wife, living in Cagayan de Oro now.
I agree with you! I'm currently nude here at home almost always, but I know if I go nude outside here and people complain I will be in trouble. I don't want to risk being kicked out of the country!
Also I cannot understand why more Pinoys and Pinays don't go nude. My wife compllains when she comes home each night that it's so humid, but after she gets out of her day clothes she still puts on something loose. Admittedly she removes her bra, but she would be that much cooler being fully nude like me! At least she is happy for me to be nude here!
Back in Australia you still needed to be careful not to go nude in public, but there are plenty of beaches and resorts there where you can. Nude in your backyard is also usually OK unless the neighbors complain. I miss being nude outdoors, but I am now nude far more often than I could be in the past. I can't complain about that! My wife tells me she used to swim nude with the local boys in the river when she was a child. I've also seen children bathe and play outside nude in the Philippines, and i wish that the lack of shame that children have remained for adult Filipinos.
