Nudists Who Want Anti-Nudism Laws C
A group for those of us who want to have anti-nudism laws in our areas or states overturned or changed!
Nude, clothed, numbers will matter
Return to DiscussionsFirst posted in the forum, it was suggested that I move this over to the group.
I fully agree Lookn. When it comes to getting laws changed, finding new areas for clothing optional beaches and needing "numbers" on a ballot or for a vote, does it really matter if everyone is nudist or nudism supporter? As has been said a dozen times before, we are all people. I have friends who arent nudists but would support the cause all day long simply because they feel it is a right we should all have. Who knows, one teetering on the verge of becoming a nudist may just need a little guidance through the ideas and morals behind true nudism. I was hesitant at first but the people here took every reservation I had and through them right out the windw. They made me feel 100% comfortable. No pressure, just friendly people helping me out. If we get the chance to stand in front of the White House or Congress and plead our case, dressed, nude, it wont matter what everyone is it will matter how many of us there are.
It would be nice if we could change the laws so we could go around nude everywhere we wanted to without having to conform to some kind of dress code but that would probably be impossible in our lifetime. For now let's set a goal to have more beaches and areas where we could be nude. With all the beach property in this country (USA) there are not very many beach areas where we can be nude. Let's have that as a starting point. Years ago skinny-dipping was no problem in remote areas but now those areas are no longer all that remote and we are losing ground there. Let's try to stop that loss.
it amazing though history how many of our political leaders were skinnydippers isn't that pretty much the same as being a nudist one was lyndon johnson now if he was caught skinnydipping would somebody have arrested him, of course back in the 60's & 70's people didn't have such a hangup with nudity but i see a double standard especially the hollywood elite how is it that people are so overwhelmed with them and if they appear nude or semi nude people are more overwhelmed and excited now if you or me are nude or semi nude the are appaulded and want to prosecute. the female singer in daly plaza dallas texas stripped nude and in the end was cited for a misdermeandor disorderly now if we did that we would be locked up and be prosecuted as a sexual predator. we need laws changed but unfortuantly they are changing for the worse.
... but i see a double standard especially the hollywood elite how is it that people are so overwhelmed with them and if they appear nude or semi nude people are more overwhelmed and excited now....
The way that the media and advertising industries have sexualised the human body has helped confuse the issues of sex and straightforward social nudism. Images of people wearing very skimpy articles of clothing that draw attention to certain body parts can be very sexualised, far more than those of naked people, other than when in very suggestive poses. You see people wearing very skimpy and suggestive clothing in malls and other public places, if there were nude people in those places they may well appear far less sexy.
Its this confusion between simple nudity and sex that helps cause many of the issues we nudists have to overcome to enjoy life naked. I'm not denying that there can't be sexy situations when naked people are together, but straightforward social nudity is the same to me as textiles socialising, and preferable.
