If it wasn't semitransparent, I would say yes.
skinzwear actually sells a Micro String bikini with a lot less coverage than that and they claim it is the smallest suit you can wear on public clothing required beaches.

Why nude color? To teaese other swimmers into thinking you might be nude?
I had a swimsuit that small to wear in my pool before we got the privacy fence, but I got rid if it because I didn't need a swimsuit in my pool and wasn't bold enough to wear it anywhere else.
Should have kept it for the ride to Gunnison with the top down and the walk between the parking lot and the clothing free zone.

I have similar style suits from Skinzwear in burnt orange, hot pink, chocolate brown and white with a black-grey-yellow palm-tree-themed print. None of them are as sheer as Ray's, perhaps just very subtly sheer on close inspection when immediately leaving the water, but are very thin so some details do show when dry. A pleasure to wear. I might choose something less revealing on a weekend when I expect lots of families, but otherwise I consider I can wear them anywhere in Australia.

If I wish to dial it back a little I'll choose a non-tanga suit but still with narrow sides of 1/2" to an inch or so. Slight sheerness may have me keeping a little distance from others until the suit dries a little and the effect wears off, a suit like Ray's might mean I stay a little further away for a bit longer since nothing is really hidden! It may also depend further on my reading of the crowd.

The nude fabric is intriguing to me, especially for a suit that is so intimately shaped. I tried to get a custom one made once, but the maker did not quite have the right colour in stock and substituted, with my permission, one that was shinier. It was definitely shinier! To the point where the ambiguous nude look was lost. As tempting as it is I haven't tried ordering that style again as I have enough suits. A 3-D or 4-D suit from jovanadesign.com in nude would be awesome!

Very skippy swimwear. Not sure if I'd be able to pull that one off at public beaches in my province. Some people make a big deal about speedos the normal once. When I wear my white aussiebums everyone takes not. My yellow thong is definitely going to get people talking. My tanga would have the same type of reaction.

I must confess I've never worn the orange ones out. I like to be skimpy, but the glittery fabric really demands attention in my opinion. Had it been a conventional fabric in a near-nude shade, I'd have likely worn them on occasion. I bought a red one with 1/2" sides and a less-provocative pounch at the same time (my theme with these suits being how much fabric can you cut away and still retain the classic Speedo silhouette) and I still like to wear them in public but away from family areas.

I haven't had my tanga swim bikini at public beaches. Feel a little small and to transparent when wet for public. With the thong I bought I doesn't feel that way and be more brave on wearing them in public. All that said I do wear my skippy 1.5wj loose white aussiebums at public beaches no issues

When I had a swimsuit like that, I had two opposite feelings.
On one hand it felt great to have so much exposed and still be legally covered.
On the other, I had an urge to just rip it off and go full nude.
