Return to DiscussionsThere are many of us nudists who love animals and have been fortunate enough to have had dogs and cats as love able members of our families. We may also be avid sports fans who root for our favorite college sports teams. In doing so we often root against those teams and their fans or alumni.
Yesterday we had to make the difficult decision of relieving our 16 year old dog Dittie of his suffering from Cushings Disease. While at the Veterinarian Clinic a dog owner saw our state of grief we were experiencing and offered his condolences to us while we were preparing to leave. He asked us if we would join him in a prayer to ask God for his blessing upon not only Diane and me but for our departed family member Dittie. We held hands while he said a prayer for us after which he said God Bless You and our dog. I was wearing a baseball cap and shorts with the name of my favorite college and alma mater. He wore a light jacket with the name of the college thats our biggest rival here in the state of Indiana. Ill never forget his sympathy and caring he bestowed upon us.
Thank you Sue and B. J for your kind thoughts. Although do to resort rules not allowing pets in buildings, we chose to visit on a daily basis so that we could take both our dogs with us. They both enjoyed the time we spent there taking walks through the campgrounds and seeing other dogs owned by the full time residents.
Thanks for your kind words. I just received a keychain with his picture on it and the years he gave joy and happiness to all who had the pleasure of being with him even for a moment. We hope your new family member lives a long life as Dittie did.
