Sounds like a great idea. I've never been to Singapore and Malaysia before. The good news is I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA, andthere is a direct flight connection between San Francisco and Singapore via Singapore Airlines (this plane stops at Hong Kong midway before continuing to the destination). So for anyone who is from San Francisco Bay Area or Hong Kong, one can fly to Singapore first for a rest before the real party begins. Singapore has many excellent places to tour, plus the sanitary condition is superb, so we can get a rest with clean water, healthy food, and clean air. This way, we can either have fun in Singapore or continue to travel to the State of Johor, Malaysia via road or rail. Just bring something light and essential (no luggage) and we'll be good to go. Also, make sure we respect the customs and cultures of the natives there, as there are many Malays, Chinese, and Asian Indians living in both Singapore and Malaysia.
