the doorbell rings
Return to Discussionsi am nude 90% + of time when i'm home and always when i do my weekly housecleaning so if the doorbell rings i stay nude but will try not to expose myself to whomever is at the door but if someone is handing me a item, package, mail it's a bit tricky as trying to open the screen door and not.i not interesting in flashing someone but i want to be comfortable in my home and why should i get out of my comfort zone to appease someone at my door.
I live in an apartment and do not usually get visitors knocking at my door, they have to call me first from the building entrance door phone for me to open the entrance door for them. So I get some time to cover myself if required.
However I had an incident once when I was painting my study room naked on a weekend. I had got a little paint over my body as well. Suddenly the door bell rang. Quite surprised I opened the door not remembering I was naked with a little paint on me. It was my next door neighbor and his wife. It so happened that they had locked the door accidentally and forgot the keys inside, so had no way to go back to their apartment. They were quite shocked to see me naked but did not say much on my nudity. I told them I was painting my study and did not want to spoil my cloths with paint - a poor excuse ;) They had forgot there cell as well inside their home and wanted me to call the apartment manager to come and open the door with spare key. I invited them inside and called the apartment manager on duty. We chatted for some time while I showed them my new study while I was still naked, till the manager came to open the door and they thanked me and left. I remember when I opened the door to see them off, the apartment manager was standing in the corridor and he too saw me naked ;)
Like Dforsgren, I live in an apartment building where you have to buzz guests in at the lobby entrance, but if they are already in (someone opened the door and they followed) I have been surprised since I usually don't lock my door. I do have a female neighbor who I think likes catching or seeing me nude because she is always knocking on my door and coming in to ask me for something. This all started after the first time she caught me nude when I was expecting a female friend who I had just buzzed in to arrive when my neighbor had knocked on my door, thinking it was my friend, I yelled the door is open while I was cooking and so she walked in and came into the kitchen and saw me cooking naked, full frontal, and was very surprised. I grabbed a towel as she turned her head, but I saw her still peeking. My friend walked in and found me covering up and my neighbor turned slightly and laughed. We had a good laugh and I lost my towel when my friend took it jokingly. Ever since my neighbor strolls in and gets her looks when asking for something. I have answered the door a few other times when I was expecting my neighbor and it was someone else who hadn't buzzed me to get in since someone was exiting, so a few others have been surprised. But I do cover up with a robe when I am expecting someone else or even get dressed. Don't want to offend.
I used to cover and answer the door. Nowadays, I either don't answer the door or crack the door open, remain naked and conceal my body behind the door. It's happened twice that I got into a conversation with those on the porch and began to stand a bit more comfortable and the side of my body was visible. You could tell I was naked but nothing was exposed. The only way I knew I had slipped partially out into view was when the visitors began to focus on my exposed portion of my body and stopped looking at my face! :D
I did have one incident recently where I had on a baseball jersey and nothing else. I watched as this guy, walking his dog, allowed the dog to crap in our yard and was beginning to walk away and not clean it up. I jumped out of my chair at the computer and bolted toward the front door. I opened it, yelled at the guy and made him come back and clean it up. I was so pissed off that I didn't even pay attention to the fact that my bottom half was completely exposed. Only after he'd cleaned up after his dog and I closed the door, my wife said ... "ya know, that jersey doesn't cover you like you think it does. You're pretty much ALL out there!" I figured I get a visit from the cops but it still hasn't happened and the guy now takes a different route to walk his dog. ;-)
I've seen a sign for sale somewhere or on some nudist site that reads, "I'm a Nudist/Naturist if this doesn't offend you please knock ... if it does please ring the doorbell!" .. I've wanted to get that sign mostly because my doorbell is broke so I figure it would keep the "textiles" of the world from bothering me, ha!

your busy cleaning, dusting, etc. nude of course - why get your clothes dirty or sweaty and the doorbell rings, do you get dressed, coverup or answer it nude and if so how far do you go to expose or not expose ?
If the person at my door is an expected visitor, i will dress accordingly but if not, I answer in my natural state in my own home. I handle it as a matter-of-fact and keep them to the issue of their visit. If they ask, i will just explain that i don't wear clothes at home and redirect back to the subject of the visit. I do get odd looks, but usually my nonchalant attitude gives them the lead to follow and it's fine.
