Six Mile Creek in Ithaca, New York
Return to DiscussionsI enjoy visiting Six Mile Creek in Ithaca, New York.
It offers nice trails and waterfalls. There are even some good places to enjoy nude sunbathing and skinny dipping.
I remember leaving the creek one day after spending several hours there. I had the entire place to myself, or so I thought.
As I was leaving, I decided to hike the trails back to my car while naked.
Suddenly, it began to rain heavily. I continued on my way up the trails.
I left my clothes inside my backpack. Didn't want them to be wet when I had to change back into them for the drive back home.
All of a sudden, I encountered another person who was also hiking the trails.
He was fully dressed and even had an umbrella. I assumed he lived close to the trails.
Anyway, I knew he saw me naked but he said nothing. He just waived and continued walking the trail.
I continued up the trail until I got to my car.
Once inside my car, I got dressed for the drive home.
It was a great day.
I have enjoyed Six Mile Creek as well. While not everyone is nude, there are places in the creek to get naked snd enjoy the sun. I too have come across people dressed hiking the trails while I was naked, never had anyone say anything more than hello. Great spot!
Six Mile Creek is great. Went there often when I worked down there. I love 2 hours away now and have to make a day trip of it, so I have to plan. I also enjoy hiking naked around the Finger Lakes forest. Miles of trails with no one around.
These reports of nude hiking at Six Mile Creek remind me of nude swimming and sunbathing in Ithaca 50 years ago at a reservoir & dam in the woods not far from town. It was considered a very "hippy" and "Woodstocky" thing to do, and it was the first time that I saw public nudity outside of a locker room.
Speaking of locker rooms, in the men's gym at Cornell, nude swimming was MANDATORY in the indoor pool because the lint from swim suits clogged the water filters!
