Return to DiscussionsSince I live on a busy through street, I obviously can't be nude.
My normal attire now is 3" gym shorts and no shirt.
I am considering 2 possibilities for wear even less.
1. Open the side seams and crotch on the shorts. Similar coverage but less constrained.
2. Wear a 2"side tan through swim brief. Less coverage, lighter weight fabric, no tan line, but more confining.
Any suggestions?
Depends, I guess. Open sides on shorts is easy, but I wonder if an open crotch just ends up looking like a skirt. If that's okay, then it might work. A wrap (like Skinzwear S2 or similar) may also be an alternative, as long as the knot is in the right place and won't appear to be a hack. Perhaps it also depends on the message you want to convey. Is it "I'm a nudist and wearing this under sufferance for your sake!" or just "I plan to dive in my pool at any minute." Swimwear can suggest the latter in the way that a skirt or wrap wouldn't.
I'm not good with tying knots to keep things on, so I wouldn't be comfortable out front for a period of time with a wrap.
I do use a towel for cover between the back door and the pool enclosure frequently, and to answer the door, get the mail or newspaper, or juggle cars in the driveway occasionally. In all of those situations, I have one hand free to grab the open side if the knot starts to slip, and if often does.
i would go for the tan through swimwear all day, mine just covers my bum and frontage plus there open at the sides and are very light so it feels like your not wearing anything, have fun and do be safe out there.
I had at least two open side swimsuits at one time before I got the privacy fence around the pool.
One was as minimal as possible, with panels about 4" wide and just a narrow band of elastic connecting them.
I didn't keep that one because I decided it showed too much, even for the back yard.
A more typical string side suit could be a possibility at some point, but I got rid of the last one when I put up the privacy fence.
Maybe I will try the swim brief first, and after I get comfortable with that buy an tan through string side suit for front yard use.

When you say just covers, do you mean that front and back are very narrow like the 4 " one I had?
I found the solar brand tan through to be very light mesh. but not super durable. It's ok, and even when worn out can provide enough visibility protection to look quite ok, at least from a few ft away. A more open mesh is fine also from a slight distance. And a short kilt made of mesh is great for some protection from passerbys thinking anything is odd. but of course the larger the mesh holes the more can be seen through them from up close.
I have done plenty in the front garden when naked and can reply on the advice to call handlers if somebody rings the police:
"If they are on their own property, it will be lawful activity. Explain to caller that no offences are being committed. No police action necessary."
However, when my wife is with me I wear some transparent white shorts as a concession to a quiet married life.

True in the UK, but not in most states in the United States.
So this morning I went all out. Ive seen people say theyve worked in the front yard almost naked, well today I pushed that envelope a bit further. I washed the car this morning, in the driveway out front, 15ft front the street, with only a yellow sarong on. Not advertising but at 1worldsarongs website you can see the sarong I wore. What I didnt know before washing the car was that when the sarong gets wet, its almost completely see thru. I didnt give it a second thought until I reached down to wash the lower part of the car. I looked between my legs and my cock and balls were hanging free. When I stood up, they were covered. During the entire washing, only one truck passed and the sun was in their eyes so Im not sure if I was seen or not, dont care. Either way, it was very free-ing to do this and I plan on doing it more. I was very comfortable and didnt have to worry about wet clothes or shoes. I did take the sarong off when I was washing the front of the car as I was semi-hidden plus it was soaked from leaning into the car to clean the top. Neighbor houses next door and across the street may have seen me but Ive been in the garage naked with the door up before working and Im sure I was seen then so not really worried about them. Also work in the back yard naked so I know Ive been seen by next door neighbor and so far nothing. Now Im going to enjoy the remainder of the day naked and free.
