Non-smoker Nudists
A group for nudists who are non-smokers.
Does second hand smoke...
Return to DiscussionsI hate going into a neighborhood bar because the clothes I'm wearing have a tobacco stench the next day. We have one about 2 miles away that has great camaraderie, but I cannot tolerate 2nd hand smoke as well as the stench on my clothes.
We used to have a club member who smoked in their laundry room. This was also the place we left towel bags when we had a club event there. By the end of the evening, all the towels we brought with us stank. Some times, we had to wash them twice. Unfortuantely the member passed away a few years back but she is remembered for her smoking.

Yes, second hand smoke bothers me. If anybody 20 feet away, lights up, I know it. I am assertive enough to say, "I would rather that you not smoke."
Although Gunnison Beach is out in the open, I still prefer to locate away from any smokers. But I can't be sure, if nobody is smoking when I arrive (they might light up later). A nude beach would tend to have smokers, because nudist resorts can have a "no smoking" regulation.
Being a reformed smoker I probably hate the smell more than others. They do have a section at Cypress Cove set up for smokers. It happens to be the best spot by the pool. Has a cabana and all. Only drawback I have with this resort. I really think smoking should be illegal because of second hand smoke. Some smokers say the have a rite to smoke. They don't have a right to pollute my air as well. Look at the damage it is doing to our healthcare system as well. Smokers get cancer. Insurance covers the cost and passes it onto everyone. Rates go up. My brother is now on oxygen because his copd has gotten so bad.
Yes, and I don't like being near vapers either.
It particularly irritates me when one has to run the gauntlet of smokers to go in and out of hospital entrances.
Yesterday, enjoying the wonderful afternoon sunshine, on a local footpath, we even had to walk through a group who had stopped to smoke and take photos.
