Beach DaySaturday, August 11, 2012 (Rain date: August 12)Beach day in Port Burwell, weather permitting. The beach location will be just outsidePort Burwell Provincial Parkon the same stretch of beach but this section is the same style as Hanlan's beach in Toronto. Parking however is located in the park. Cost to park is $14 per car so carpooling is recommended plus it saves on gas.
Driving time to the beach is approximately 2 hours depending where you live but it's a nice drive through areas of Niagara you probably haven't seen before. Once you are at the park follow the road to the last parking area you can go to. I think it's parking lot 5. From there head out onto the beach, turn right and start walking. You want to walk down past the sign that says Provincial Park Boundry. I, along with everyone else that arrives early, will attempt to get a spot just past the boundry sign however look for our marker just in case we are further down the beach. Our marker will be a small blue CAW/TCA flag. It is about a 15 minute walk. Keep that in mind when packing all the stuff you intend on bringing.
Remember to bring all of your beach essentials: Sunscreen, water, blanket, towel, hat, sandels, food, beer, wine, chair, umbrella, frisbee, beach ball, and whatever else you can think of.
Please RSVPif you will be attending just in case the date changes. Also, indicate whether you would be attending on the Rain Date of Sunday, August 12 if the weather turns out sucky.
Please note:This is an unsupervised beach.Dogs:I don't know what the park policy is so call before you come with your dog.
