New Nudist

When is the right time to get naked at a camp/resort/spa?
Return to DiscussionsAs I drove to visit to my local nudist camp for the first time about a year and a half ago, I struggled with this question. Do I talk to someone and fill out paperwork before I get nude? Do I strip as soon as I get there? When do I get naked? As I drove through the gate to the parking lot, the answer became pretty obvious to me. There were about a half dozen naked men gathered on the porch of the check in area. I knew immediately I would have felt more awkward and out of place if I were clothed. Like jumping into a pool, I took deep breath, stepped out of my car and took it all off. I was nervous as I approached the group but when nobody raised their eyebrows or gasped in shock at my nudity, I began to calm down. Since falling in love with nudism that day and joining the camp, look forward to getting naked as quickly as possible upon arriving. To that end, on my past couple of trips, Ive driven there nude from the waste down so as soon as I park all I have to do is pull off my shirt and Im totally nude!
Side note: On the drive, I keep a pair of gym shorts next to me to pull on should I get stopped over by police.
Exactly same decision for me bro. Clothing into car hatch, sneakers on my feet or flip flops and a towel were all I had. Checking in was a breeze and I felt more comfortable being nude like everyone else while looking for my perfect spot than stripping when I got there. Ever since have been totally relaxed driving over and comfortable with fitting in immediately. Have enjoyed shared meals picnic style and nice conversations. I think you have a perfect approach.
The few nudist resorts I visited, I was clothed until I registered and got into the gates. But I remember asking myself the same question on when do I get nude. But like anywhere else you have to read the situation and act accordingly.
I also have a non participating wife in the social nudism. And yes you will absolutely be grilled on why your wife is not with you. It is annoying but they just want to make sure you are not screwing up a relationship over nudism. I have been told it happens all the time. I considered lying and just saying I am single. But I finally decided to just be open and honest in my explanations and see what happens. I think most people can sense honest or dishonest responses. The good news is that I have yet to be turned away. So I would say just know you will get some questions at the gate. But once you are in, the judgement tends to fade away. That is what is great about nudist places. No judgement. Usually.
Typically you'll remain clothed through check in and filling out any paperwork that the club/resort requires. If it's your first visit, you may be required to take a tour. Some clubs/resorts require you to be nude during the tour. The club/resort Host will instruct you to park some place, take you clothes off and they'll come over to pick you up. Make sure you bring your towel to sit on, on the golf cart.
Usually, I drive naked to clubs and resorts. Depending on where the office is located, I may exit our car or motorhome naked if the office is inside the gates and we're allowed in before exiting the vehicle. Other times when we have to check in before driving into the gates, I may have to slip on some shorts and flip flops. At our club, I drive there naked, slip on shorts to check in and then get back in the car, take off the shorts and drive in naked. When we leave, I almost always drive out naked and remain naked all the way home.
Most of the rustic nudist resorts I visited followed the same protocol:
- Check in dressed.
- Stay dressed for the introductory tour.
- Be driven or walked back to your car; at which point the "tour guide" tells you to undress at your leisure.
I once asked the front desk manager at my fave resort what she preferred; and she told me she actually preferred "newbies" to stay dressed until they were "all cleared" for entry into the resort. I kinda get it because you never know if you have to turn someone away for whatever reason (a failed background check or "petrified" spouse).
So unless being told otherwise (it never hurts to call first and ask), I recommend "erring on the side of caution" and just staying dressed the first time.
After that first time and getting the "lay of the land" so to speak, then it's just a matter of practicality and proclivity. At my fave resort, for example, I simply asked the desk manager if it was ok if I just checked in naked going forward; being that the parking lot was inside the resort. My then wife was game; as a matter of fact she just started wearing a sarong for the trip so she could get naked on the way there. It's just more enjoyable when you can already be naked by the time you get there. You don't have to go through the formality of "finding a place to undress."
