Return to DiscussionsIt's too bad the Pittsfield ride didn't go off, I thought this was a terrific year for them to try and start one, since they had that ballot initiative last Fall about allowing females to be topless in public as men can do, and that was one of WNBRs focus issues this year. Not sure why the Pittsfield ride didn't happen, but the contact person wasn't even responding to inquiries from those of us asking for details about meeting place in that final week before the ride. Hopefully, they'll try again next year and have some more attentive organizers. I am curious if they had any problems with city officials?
Also, it is too bad the Burlington ride is not likely to happen this year either, that seems to be a ride that is in transition and looking for new organizers. Hope they get it back together for next year, they've been the biggest ride in New England in the past. I understand most people are going to join the Montpelier ride this year instead.
To update on the Pittsfield ride, the contact person did post something at their Facebook page, after the ride date had passed, explaining that personal obligations had kept him from staying on top of organizing the ride. Didn't sound like anyone had been in contact with Pittsfield city officials, so it's not known what their opinion of the ride would have been. In retrospect and considering this, it's probably best that the ride didn't procede, especially for a 1st year ride there should have been more planning. Hopefully, they'll try to do the ride again next year with more foresight!
