First visit to nudist resort
Return to DiscussionsHi! I've been thinking about it for a while, and I'm taking a week off from work in a couple of weeks, and I think it might be a good time to finally try a nudist resort. What would you recommend for a first timer in their late 20s? I live in eastern Massachusetts. I'm leaning toward Solair, but I've also seen Sun Ridge and Dyer Woods. Thanks in advance!
Weve never been to Dyer Woods but have been to Sun Ridge and Solair. Solair is much bigger and if you want to be active it has hiking trails, volleyball, tennis & pickleball. At Sun Ridge everything centers around the pool area since they dont have as much space. They have water volleyball and do have tennis courts. Because Solair is bigger you are more likely to meet other younger people there, especially on young naturists weekend when they have their 5K. I would also normally mention Berkshire Vista, but they are closing after this season, so it probably isnt worth it for someone new to go to. It was always fun going there, but the vibe this year might be different.
Of all the sites in New England, Solair is the one weve decided to become members at. Being a co-op owned by the members, we dont have to worry about it closing if the owner dies. Sun Ridge almost closed a few years ago when its owner died and now Berkshire Vista will probably close unless another nudist-friendly owner purchases it (it almost closed in the 90s for similar reasons, so it may not be lucky again).
Ive been to Dyer a few times, and it seems great for first timers. The back pond is usually sparsely populated, and has other first timers. There are many places to sit up high on the sides of the pond, and you can cover up if you are not completely comfortable if someone passes by. The trails are great, and clothing optional (although everyone seems to be nude) .
