the average person walking down the street? I mean, are they
less likely to claim they are offended, if you answer the door naked, than other people?
This question might also apply to service or repair people
too.I have always tried to avoid such situations because of
the possible consequences, butI've seen several comments in
various places around TN to make me wonder about this.
It is hard to say. I think it depends on the person themselves. Most delivery people maybe surprise, or they may just take it in stride. I have answered the in the nude with Fed-X and UPS drivers as well as pizza delivery guys. They just seem to take it all in, some just smiled and went on without any problems. I have activated my panic alarm by accident late at night and even the police offer who responded did not mind. I told him I was not dressed and if he could wait a second so I could grab a pair of shorts I would let him in. He respond it was not necessary and came in with me butt ass naked and went through the entire house as I grabbed my shorts. Did not faze him one bit.
Delivery people are people just like anyone else. They therefore are of all types and opinions.
I'm sure they get to see all sorts doing their job, and although they may grow a bit of a think skin, some of them still probably don't like it.
Even though the delivery drivers we have at home are regulars, I would still not impose my nudity on them
Delivery people are much more likely to smile and not complain if confronted by a lovely nude woman that a fugly nude male. Simply the truth, I have no desire to be black listed and no longer receive delivers so I wear something to the door.
Delivery people are like you and me : they are in the life, and of course they have seen many times many people nude opening door ^^ My bro is delivery man and he told me so many stories...so being nude home and open the door that way is so natural.
I agree that delivery people are just like anyone else. Some have probably grown a thick skin and just accept it as part of the job. After all their job is delivering things to peoples private residence and they see all sorts of things. We will generally always have something to cover up with handy for that unexpected visitor, so we don't force our nudity on anyone. I have only once purposely answered the door nude, and it was because I saw the woman peek in the window before she even knocked. I figured she had already seen me and still chose to knock, so I answered respectfully by keeping my lower body behind the door. She was not phased and went right into her sales pitch, I tried to use my nakedness as a way to get rid of her but she said it was OK and proceeded to enter my home and complete her mission. She asked me to sign some paperwork so that her colleague could come back a little later and demonstrate the product. I got my living room carpet cleaned and she got a good story to tell.My UPS guy has also seen me nude, because we like to keep the windows and door open in nice weather, and can not be seen from the street. I walked into the living room one day and hadn't heard his truck so he approached the door at the same time I walked in. He didn't bother knocking and just said hello. I figured why bother grabbing the shorts now, and just signed for the package. The interesting part of that story is he is also the same UPS driver that delivered to my business. We talked about it a couple of days later and he said I wasn't the first person he had delivered to like that.
FedEx and UPS, even the USPS carrier ... will usually just ring the door bell and leave the packages. If they remain at the door afterwards, we suspect they want a signature and we tell them "just a second." When we open the door with a robe on, I'm certain they suspect we were not dressed and they probably appreciate it that we slipped something on.
I have no doubt that some pretty young woman opening the door naked to receive packages would make many of the male delivery people's day but as stated, if some older man answered the door naked, they'd probably not be too happy and ... I'd just as soon get my packages in the future and not have them drive on by and state that no one was home because of a notion that because we are nudists and that's the way we live, we should expose unsuspecting delivery people to our nudity.
We happen to have many female delivery people and though we're naked all the time, when the door bell rings and we're expecting a delivery of some kind, I grab my robe and slip it on.;-)
Judging by the way delivery people rush around their routes I can only guess that they really don't care about someone nude or not. Their only concern is getting the packages out and on the porches because their boss is a butt wipe (aren't most of them?) and they need to finish in an allotted amount of time. Their whole focus is on their job and not you. I imagine that's why the dimwits from FedEx fling the packages from 50 feet away so they barely have to exit the truck.
I have answered the door naked to receive a delivery they just got me to sign gave me the package and left, one other time I had a woman at the door trying to sell me something, I said im naked and she said so I don't care, so I open the door and she came inside and sat in the lounge room and told me what she was selling. I saw that she was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable so I said to her would you like me to put some pants on? or you can take yours off I you like, when I said that she got up and took all her clothes off and she was much happier.
The fact remains ... for those hell bent on making a statement, remaining nude when someone comes to their door ... it is YOUR prerogative, but it's not the norm, it is not what other should do ... it's a personal choice to decide what is right for that particular nudist and because their decision differs, does not make them any less a nudist, any less a committed nudist and only makes those wishing to cover, respectful of those not expecting a nude person to answer the door.
But some of you can do whatever you want ... as long as you don't disrespect the actions of other nudists. ;-)
