Naked At Home - 2014 / 2024 -

For people who like to be naked in the house...

Nudism and your sex life.....

Return to Discussions

I have been single for around 10 years now so I can't answer a question I have wondered about for many years. I'm curious how being a nudist would be a positive or semi negative influence on a couple's sex life. Picture a non nudist couple at home, the husband is doing things in the home, when the wife calls him into the bedroom. He goes in there and sees his wife laying naked on the bed. A alarm goes off in the husbands head, he smiles and sexual foreplay begins. Now picture a nudist couple in the same situation. When the wife calls him into the bedroom and he sees her laying naked on the bed, he will have a straight face and say, "Yah, what do you want?". They are so used to seeing each other naked that being nude won't ding any sexual alarm bells. So my question is this: Does nudism affect your sex life? Does it help or hurt the mood? Positive or negative? Have you experienced this and how did you cope with it?

RE: Nudism and your sex life.....

Nudists have a free and open accepting lifestyle. If you are truely in it with a nudist mind you accept the human body as it is. The mere inperfections of ourselves or how we see others. That acceptance gives us the pleasure of taking our partner as themselves and knowing they accept you as you are. Not as a model or fantasy. We in general are raised to find fault. We first meet our partner, they are perfect. Later we tend to find the imperfections in each other as we were subconsciously taught while growing up. I think nudism can give us a security blanket so to speak in the bedroom and we can enjoy our partners to the fullest because of it. When you were growing up, did you find yourself seeing people of size, color or not attractive and make a comment to yourself or others about the person. As a nudist on the beach or resort you may accept that same person and talk the day away as friends. That is the mindset that a nude life can bring. Acceptance.

So nudism does enhance your sex life and not hamper it? It is a positive thing. Even though you saw each other nude all day long, the "spark" was still there. Sounds like what your saying is, that nudism is kind of slow tiny bit of foreplay. I heard a comment many years ago about nudism and they said "Being naked all day as a nudist, you removed all the fun for the sex part. You killed the mood." Since then, I've always been curious about the subject and how couples deal with it.

We still have our cuddles and kisses etc. Whether its been a day wearing clothes or a nude day alone or together with others again dressed or nude..

Good sex is a lot mental. If you view your partners nakedness throughout the day and mentally you are loving their openess and comfort with it. It is in itself can be a bit of an aphrodisiac.

I'd have to say nudism has had zero impact on my sex life. I don't behave differently when nude/clothed. I don't think any differently. whether clothed or nude human being are by nature sexual, being a nudist doesn't change that. All in all...I'd cay no effect at all.

My wife and I have been full time nudists for over 40 years. We are naked, see each other naked almost everyday. I did work as a firefighter for 32 years so there were days when I was gone for 24 hrs. or longer and sometimes on large fires I'd be gone for days and days. Seeing each other naked all the time has never had a negative effect on our sex lives. It has brought us much closer together. But now that we are both retired ... we are naked much more than we are dressed and that's the way we prefer it and it hasn't stopped us from a great and frequent sex life.
A simple touch, look or action tells us that we are in the mood for sex. I see my wife naked in bed each night and if either of us is in the mood, which is still quite often, a certain look, smile, body position will give each other the sign. I love seeing my wife naked all the time and she loves seeing me naked all the time. I find it strange that some couples don't like to see each other naked. It's like living with your sister! ;-)

Well.....now another plus for the Nudist Lifestyle. Be able to enjoy the feel of Clothes Free Freedom, be a social nudist and not be judged, and now....even enhances a sex life. Makes sense now of "the look" or "smile".....nude or with clothes on. Foreplay starts with the mind. Having nudist partners is "frosting on the cake".

RE: Nudism and your sex life.....

The opening question reads like it is from someone who has not seen his lover naked except in a sexual context. Did the start of nudism coincide with the start of being single? It did with me but my wife and I were naked around each other in daily, non sexual, routines. And more recently I have enjoyed intimacy with fellow nudists. As others have said: we are comfortable in our nudity such that it isn't linked to sex. The two are separate and the signals are clear. [Sometimes being clothed can be more sexual. I just spent a week at Cap d'Agde. During the day everyone is naked and relaxed with barely any sexual activity. In the evenings the men dress conventionally and the women provocatively. Then, for some, the sex begins.] There can be a delight in unwrapping (or undressing)our partner or being unwrapped by one eager to get to our own body. But being naked already adds spontaneity.

Positive or negative? Have you experienced this and how did you cope with it?Very positive for us. We enjoy seeing each other nude anytime. Nudism has also made us more sensitive to our environment and any sensations. That includes sexual activity. Our love for each other also has something to do with it. If a couple has become complacent with each other than no amount of being naked with each other is going to change their apathy.

Whether in a nudist or textile situation I'm not aware of 'sexual alarm bells' going off. You can pick up on sexual signals in both situations, I just don't see them as alarms.
