Return to DiscussionsI have related before that I am a member of several online hospitality exchanges. The one geared for long distance bicyclists generates the most users. 21 this season. I clearly state in my profile that I am a nudist and to expect a nude greeting at the door. But my profile on Airbnb has to be a bit more subtle. My listing is labeled " Naturist friendly home" The pics show the outside of thehome , the guest room and a pic of the hot tub with the house rules posted above it. Use common sense and No swimsuits allowed
All that to give some background to this story. I got a request from a woman whose profile said she was from India and wanted to stay 2 nights. Very short notice. Okay fine. She also states that she lives in a college town about 2 hours away and had a couple of days off from work and wanted to explore this corner of Indiana. I agreed to host her and did make sure she knew I was a single guy.In my mind I had pictured a graduate student of Indian descent. There was no way I would greet her bare, but decided that sincethe weather was still warm enough to be shirtless, I would wear my sarong only. When she got out of her car she was late 40sand American! I asked her about why she listed a specific town in India as her home and she said " it must read my FB profile and use that, I never state my real hometown on FB, no one does" She made no comment about my attire and was very friendly. We had a nice visit in the evening after the dinner she made for me, her treat when traveling.
My home has numerous discreet as in no full frontal nudity, but otherwise rather revealing pics of me taken all over the world in my travels. In trading stories I related some of my unclothed adventures which did not seem to phase her other than a laugh.
In the morn I did my normal streak to the mailbox to get the paper and when I came back in the door she was coming down the steps for a trip to the bathroom. I held the paper in front of me and we passed in hall. She went back to bed, I soaked nude inmy hot tub and then put the sarong back on before she got up for good.
She signed my guest book with a note saying that she did not know what "naturist friendly " meant and had to look it. She apologized for not letting me comfortable in my own home.
She wants to revisit sometime and explore the area more. Maybe next time she will adopt the "when in Rome " attitude.
Seems like it might be time to update that AirBNB listing! ;)
from my past experience airbnb is not very receptive to clearly stating ' nudist" so i am going to leave it subtle for now.
I can wear clothes while my guests are here if it means generating money . In the bicycling community, my nudism is legendary in a good way.something I have heard from various guests who have pedaled all over.
I think you may have done quite well with this woman and your discreet and open exposure of what a naturist home truly is. If in fact she meant what she said about returning once again, she was obviously not put off by your nudity and probably appreciated that you didn't expose yourself to her in an "in your face" sort of way but in my opinion, the slight exposure was probably the best way to get someone, like her, to think about it, mull it around and come to the conclusion that it was fine and that might be something she would be comfortable doing. Taking into account that you are a single male, living alone and she was a traveling single female, both strangers and she saw you naked and she didn't hightail it outta there ... is proof that she was interested, even if she wasn't willing to participate.
