Tough being a single male

It's tough being a single nudist male. You are the first excluded from any list. Sucks. Everyone wants to hang with couples and females. Sorry to bitch, I'm just frustrated.

for the most part I agree with all that is said here, I have come to the conclusion that if people ( single females and couples) don't want to be friends because I'm basically on as complicated in my status, it is their loss. I am a nudist and have been for a very long time, although I did take a break when I met my wife because she has had a hard time with body issues and basically refuses to try it. And yes it does suck bad but owe well.

Guys, why do you even wanna be friends or chat to people who are so narrow-minded that they exclude you automatically? If a woman doesn't want to talk to you, just move on and don't whine about it. There are others who will. You can't be friends with everybody.I couldn't agree more.

actually being single and a nudist in today's world is far better that pre 1980's where single men weren't even allowed to visit the majority of nudist camps / resorts in the states and as for nudist being more accepting that's BS these are the same prudes ( not all ) except now they have stripped off their clothes and are nude. i have chatted with females and couples here but have chatted more with males same when i visit a nude beach or camp but at least at the nudist camp / resort i'm now inside looking out. if someone doesn't want to friend or chat move on as there are a lot here ( yes mostly single guys) that would love to chat.

RE: Tough being a single male

That is not my experience but I can see why it happens.

Here on TrueNudists 87% of member are men, compared to only 6%
women and 7% couples. If only a tenth of the men are perverts or
voyeurs they will outnumber the women. Quite apart from that the
women, and couples, will be overwhelmed by a bombardment of friend
requests from men. So filtering men out can be a protection quite
separate from the issue of perversion.

Elsewhere men outnumber women amongst nudists significantly.
Typically I've found a ratio of roughly 2:1 on nude beaches. Nudist
clubs often limit access by single men just to keep a balance
between the genders. So, there too, it may be our weight of numbers
which causes us to be discriminated against.

So why di I not feel discriminated against? It could be my age (70
year olds are less threatening) or that I am widowed. No doubt they
help. I have a full profile stating all my interests and I am
very active on the site. If I request a friendship the recipient
can easily find out what sort of character is sending it. If I see
a profile that says no single men, I'll either stay away or I'll
ask them to look up my profile. Some accept. Having said that most of my contacts here are with other men. That's ok with me. I was lucky in that my first nudist holiday was at Carol's Naturist Guest House, owned by Ceekay123 here on TN. They accept single men and I have made real face to face friends through my holidays there. I've been on many nude holidays since (12 this year) and only felt that single men were discriminated against on one occasion - at Cap d'Agde. I doubt I have any secret formula. Maybe I don't feel discriminated against because I accept my lot.

RE: Tough being a single male

How many of those who are complaining about their problems of being
a single male on TN have lots of single female friends in the
textile/real world?

I'm not single currently, but I have been at various times. I've
never found it a problem making female friends whether I'm single
or in a relationship, irrespective of whether those friendships are
platonic or more. I'm not saying that to boast, its just a simple
fact. I don't set out to make a new female/male/couple friend
online today anymore than I set out to make new female/male/couple
friends in the real world 30 years ago, that sort of thing just
happens sometimes and doesn't happen at other times for me.

I've usually made new friends through common interests and being
out and about. I now live near a few nudist beaches which makes it
easier to socialise in nudist circles and subsequently meet new
people and make nudist friends. I lived for a long time in big
cities, it was much harder to meet nudists there, so I get why its
hard to meet in some situations. But I still made nudist friends of
both sexes, in times when the internet was not what it is today, a
means to meet people amongst many other things, so making contact
with other nudists was much harder then.

RE: Tough being a single male

My profile clearly says that I'm a married male but I'm not here as a couple because my wife is not a nudist. She knows that I am and I've even introduced her to people who I've met nude it's just not her thing. Now that I've said that and I'm sure that all of you guys have this happen to you. Think about how many single guys want to be your friends on here vs. Women or couples and you'll know why they are leary of us !!! If I send a friend request to a single woman or couple and they don't reply that's fine. On the other hand I always read other people's profiles first and if they don't want single guys to send them a friend request then I don't. If someone sends me a friend request I read their profile and then decide yes or no. As for going places nude I'm always respectful of their rules and have never been denied access anywhere and that includes beaches and resorts.

Kudos to you.

Yeah, I agree and must admit there's a certain push/pull of seeing why it's true and seeing why it's not right. It's driven me away and back numerous times, same for this site. I'm tired of being made to feel guilty for the perception of a few that ruin things for others. Lately I'm in a withdrawal phase again and just wave the white flag. Discouraging, yeah but I'm just tired of agonizing over it.

RE: Tough being a single male

I always thought that nudists are supposed to be some of the more liberal and accepting people out there. But here on TN the reality is different. Here, if you are a single male, you are automatically branded as a creep or pervert and treated as a pariah. Its weird. It leaves a very bad taste in the mouth so to speak. This is what i thought too at first. All of the nudists I knew were easy-going, progressively-minded, and accepting. After joining TN I now see i was wrong. Nudists are basically the same as the general population but without clothing. If you're a clothed conservative prude, you'll be a nude conservative prude. If you're prone to make unsubstantiated assumptions about people while clothed, you'll do the same when nude. If you're clickish, closed-minded, homophobic, racist, presumptive, Republican, Democtar, easy-going, accepting, etc., etc., etc., when clothed, you'll be the same when nude.
