What do you do to stay nude around textile neighbors?
Return to DiscussionsI live in an apartment complex, with a balcony that overlooks a beautiful pool area with grills, a fountain, a lounge area, fireplace, etc. Lots of people outside when the weather is nice. Since my wife and I are usually naked at home, when we want to sit on the patio and enjoy the weather, she usually puts her robe on, and I walk out with a towel wrapped around me that I then drape over my lap, so as not to get in trouble or offend anyone. What do you all do when you want to go outside but there are neighbors around?
Can you put up some off white, green or grey semi see through screening on the balcony railing. You get to be nude then without anyone seeing you from the waist down.In Australia it is used for pergolas etc and available in Masters and other hardware stores.
We live in a terrace housing block, houses touch wall to wall on both sides and the rear ground floors abut each other but the upper floors normally, protrude out the front by about 1metre and are indented 2 meters from the ground floor leaving a 4 metre breezeway between the buildings.
In our case the our first floor rear room (our bedroom) has a covered terrace which extends out the 2 metres as does the rear neighbours, to maintain our and their privacy we have hung a lightweight semi transparent curtain on the external wall, but now and then we get caught nude by the neighbours.
Also our roof terraces also abut with just a 1 metre high cement wall separating the two areas, so we have placed some plastic panels up to give us more privacy out front but the rear terrace is open and we have been caught on a number of occasions.Thus to keep the neighbours happy we cover up whilst they are on their terrace and strip off when the go inside.
Re the rest of the house which is 4 story's high, curtains provide the privacy on the upper floors while a perforated metal door on the ground floor gives enough security that we can see out but other can't see in unless the get real close (is put their face up to the door) during the day but at night we have to close the concentina door, because if we don't, we can't see out but they can see in .
My back garden is fairly secluded in that only one neighbour could see me naked if they looked out their upstairs bedroom window, but they are usually out during the daytime in the week. At the end of the gardenit would take an enormous amount of effort for anyone to see me in the garden as it is fenced all around and we have a massive shed at the end.Others could see if they made a conscious effort to look over their fence or through their bushes at the end of their gardens. But generally I don't care if they see me anyway as it isn't illegal to be naked in the UK unless you are doing sexually explicit things in view of the public. The worst that would happen is they call the police and they may come round and ask you to cover up.
I live on the third floor of a condominium, there is a concrete wall half way up to the railing, the rest is glass. I can sit nude without anyone seeing my lower half. but I have to be careful standing up! A little chilly right now, so I won't have the chance for naked outdoor time for a while yet anyway!
My backyard has a 5 ft plus high block wall at each end and even higher in the back since the homes behind us set higher on the terraced hill. I'm sure I've been seen nude occasionally and don't worry about it since I'm doing nothing salacious and am within the privacy of my own backyard.

Oh my that takes me back. I have lived out in the country for 25+ yrs. While going through a divorce 18 yrs ago I was requested to leave.
(Go Figure??) I rented a house in town sandwiched closely in between two houses with nosey retired folks. We couldn't cough without them coming out in the yard to check it out or peering through the windows. My GF at the time now wife and I discovered home nudity together in that house.
The only thing we could so is draw the curtains and pull the shades. There was no chance to ever sneak outside without consequence.
It felt great to discover our new passion and life but after a period of time felt so trapped. That lasted until I eventually got my house back.
I've strategically placed items to screen me below belly button from anyone looking in through windows and have planted rather a lot in the garden to screen my patio area [have rather overdone that - its also screening the sun so am now cutting it back]. As Tom says it's not illegal [how could it be?] - if anyone makes a concerted effort to spy on you they would actually be committing an offence.
