Potential Nudists
Return to DiscussionsHave you ever had a friend who is not a nudist but sometimes you wonder if he/she would be open to it? It is something I ask myself often. I guess the real question is how to you bring that up for discussion?
One of my good friends Lena, I knew her a long time and always say at her house and vise versa. She knows I am a nudist but its not something she will go around and tell anyone. One thing I always notice is how casual her mother is. What she will wear when I am over. She will come out of the shower or something and just hang out in a robe which may occasionally opens up and she never seems to mind. I always get a sense that she would be open to such a lifestyle but also fear I would be wrong and offend her by bringing it up. It is that fine line you have to walk i guess as a nudist sometimes. Does anyone know of someone like this? Have you ever thought to ask about it? If so, i would love to hear how you brought up the topic and how it worked out.
One of my neighbours complained that she couldn't see into my garden well enough. It is well screened and I spend some time in it naked. She knows I'm a nudist, as does every one else around me. We were both waiting for someone and had a long conversation about our holidays. In particular she asked about my next one. I told her it will be hiking naked in the Austrian Alps with about 50 other nudist. The conversation went on from there with me saying I'm often naked at home and actually had to get dressed to meet her and the man we were waiting for. She was quite interested and positive. Maybe she is thinking of venturing into nudism. She actually referred to my getting dressed as making myself less comfortable.
most American's are too uptight about baring their bodies, let alone just accepting their own bodiessociety, media has made it so if you aren't in shape, looking like a starving model you wont be comfortable with others
luckily I got some to transition but some wouldnt do the nude beach, or just went topless
My neighbor has begun to open up a bit and is now interested in trying it out. She said it was from watching me be so casual and happy as I wonder about my yard, that I seem to be so serene and open to others. It seems to be spreading to my back-yard neighbors as well!! I think we should all encourage as many as we can to at least try it. We can promote "Global Peace and Unity through Nudity!
Actually happening right now with my friend. She'd put something on Facebook about not having a beach body, and I said that all bodies are beach bodies. Conversation went from there, and she says she sometimes hangs out nude at home,but she's wary of 'going public' so to speak as she works in a conservative place. Told her about this site so she might come on in the next few days, hopefully.
Most people we know, know we are nudists and we have openly told them about going to a nudist resort and about going on vacations toa nude beach in Miami and one near Daytona. If any of them show any interest we invite them to try it and see ifnudism is for them. We really enjoy getting new people into nudism.
Several of my non-nudist friends are aware of my preference to live as big a chunk of my life as possible without clothes. Two of my friends have raised the subject and asked questions about why I enjoy being naked. I explained and asked if they wanted to try. I created a safe environment where they could spend some time naked with me without anyone else ever knowing about it. This was some years ago. One of my friend is now as devoted to nudism as I am. The other one decided it was not for him. I am not a missionary for nudism who generally try to recruit new members. But when approached on the subject - I try to be helpful.
I have had several friends over the years try their first social nude experience with a soak in my hot tub. It has pleasantly surprised me how many.More recently , I would not label them friends because I had just met them, but the bicyclist who pedal up to my door for a shower, meal and lodging are often eager to try a naked evening. One pair this spring while planning their route found my profile and one of them said to the other " we have to stay with the nudist" ( He told me that while the 3 of us were soaking bare in the hot tub)So judging from how many folks have given it a try , I would say there are a lot more want-to-bes out there than most nudist think there are.
