Why so many blank profiles?

Return to Discussions

I may be off course here, but o;n my update page it list who has become friends with whom. I use this by clicking on the new persons profile hoping we may share some of the same interest and might make a match as friends. However it seems most are blank with just a photo by the username. Why not take 5 min. to fill out a little about yourself and what your interest are? I don't understand is it because they are not who they say they are, ie man posing as a woman or couple? Or is it because they are just that shallow that there is nothing to say? We are not here to collect pictures of naked women, internet is full of that in higher quality and more explicit poses. But it seems to me that is the goal of most of the people here.

RE: Why so many blank profiles?

We are on other sites and it's infuriating when you get messages from people with empty profiles. We don't reply or if we do we ask they reply telling us about them. TN should make it so you only get access to the site when a profile percentage is met.I'm much the same. I understand that some people may have good reasons not to share recognizable nude photos here, but blank profiles don't help when you're looking to meet nudists here and there's noting to indicate that these people are nudists.
I simply don't buy that people can't put anything in their profiles and can't put any nude pictures because they might be recognized. Use your imagination people, and have some pictures where your face is in shadow or your head is turned or something. It really isn't hard to show that you are a real person without making yourself vulnerable to nudist cyber hunters (whoever they are?). I know that in education and some other fields there is still a silly stigma about nudism. But who really is going to go online looking for you anyway?

I can understand that some people don't like to show their faces here in public, but again what I don't understand is that someprofiles have been empty for years and not updated, or they are brand new, and yet they still have access to almost everything, why not have a stipulation that their profile at least have some of the questions answered before they are allowed to use the chat room.

I agree completely, that's a fantastic idea, now how do we get our administrators onboard?

RE: Why so many blank profiles?

It is very interesting, I started this about blank profiles, meaning no information about the person. Nothing about them, nothing about their interest, nothing about who they would like to meet, not even what kind of music they like. And the conversation has deteriorated into "you should post nude pictures of yourself to prove who you are." FIRST nude pictures was not the subject of the conversation, Second; posting 2,3,4, 50 pictures does NOT prove anything except you have a bunch of pictures of SOMEBODY. Being real to me is responding to blogs, chatting in the chat room and generally being a human being. There are some good ideas here, giving a time limit to fill out the profile is one of them. BUT if you think I'm going to run upstairs and tell the wife, "Honey, let me post a bunch of pictures of you nude on the internet so some douchbag living in his mothers basement can abuse himself over them." Your insane.

I think everyone should fill out their profile. And all should be certified, and I do not see a reason for a reluctance to get certified. Your certification pics do not get posted. If you wish, you can keep your photos private and viewable only to friends. Profile pic does not even have to be nude or even of yourself.
So far, I have declined people for friends with no profile info filled out. As I have said before, you can keep profile info very generic, but enough to get yourself across. You don't have to post your home address or social security number. No one will steal your identity if you reveal a little about yourself.

RE: Why so many blank profiles?

We have decided that if a profile does have some information, we will not request to be friends or accept a request if there's not at least one naked pic for a single person or one naked pic of both partners for couples. You can say all you want to say about yourself but a nude photo speaks volumes. As many have stated, ' this is a nudist site!'Personally I'm with you on this. I like to be open about my nudism, I have no reason to hide it and happily share recognizable nude photos as I feel there is nothing to be ashamed about being a nudist. My reason for being on sites like this is to meet other nudists, both online and in real life, as well as joining in the discussions like this.
My partner has those work-related issues where her nudism most likely would be a big problem if the wrong people knew. She understands my feelings about being open about nudism, I fully understand her potential difficulties, we were cautious for a while about where I shared my nude photos in case anyone connected the two of us. Over time there have been no problems so I fully embrace your thinking - 'this is a nudist site', the only clothing in any of my photos is footwear sometimes, I'm a nudist, anyone can see me here as the nudist I am. Its a balancing act, I'm here and nude, my partner only gets mentioned, no photos, but nude at least in spirit. Obviously this sometimes influences who becomes online friends here, understandably some may think I'm a solo male, that's how it is.
Because we have different situations we see both sides of the coin, its explained on our profile too. Blank profiles obviously say nothing, if other users have good reason not to share nude photos openly we understand, but ultimately its real nudist friends I'm looking here for, I don't socialise in the real world with John and Jane Blank.

It only took me about minutes to answer the questions and type a few words. Then added some pictures myself. I dint accept friendships unless their profile is filled in.

RE: Why so many blank profiles?

Here is why you will not see a bunch of pictures of my wife here, Now am I being paranoid or are you being naive ???Here is an direct excerpt from his letter:"A TN member on my friend list was kind enough to let me know that one of
my photos was posted on a tumblr site. He gave me the address. It
turned out to be three photos made into a collage, and it had spread to a
total of 95 different tumblr sites. I immediately closed down my TN
account and have been frantically trying to contact the owners of the
sites to get the photo taken down. Some have complied, most haven't, and
others don't even have a way to contact them. Tumblr said that they
would work on it, but I haven't heard from them in three days."I cannot speak to the other issues discussed above, but he is not the first person to tell me they have had photos they posted here show up on Tumblr.
