MLB FANS
FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO DISCUSS BASEBALL,ESPECIALLY NOW WITH THE PLAYOFFS COMING UP.
April 2013 lets talk more often about the games!
Return to DiscussionsLosing the perfect game with only one out to go must have been painful. Although not as painful as Gallaraga's a few years back (where the umpire blew the call). That Astros team is horrible, btw. I could see them losing over 110 games this year.
The Angels have been surprisingly bad so far this season (2-8) and were shut out by the Astros, of all teams, last night. As an A's fan I'm fine with that, but surprised. I don't expect this to continue, but I wonder if they're really as good as a lot of people thought they were.
The Mets snowed out three times this past week - is that a record or what for baseball? The series against the Rockies was tough - their pitching staff got roughed up a bit. Gee got tagged yesterday, and the bullpen blew it today. It's still early in the season, we'll see how they progress (which they hopefully will do).
I didn't get the chance to catch the Mets-Pirates on Sunday, but caught the highlights. Harvey pitched a pretty good game but still got bested by the Pirates. Doesn't help that the Mets offense is not consistent. Still loved that diving catch by Juan Lagares - a rookie with a promising future. That was a definite candidate for play of the week. Glad to see the Bucs playing better ball after nearly 20 years of futility. I like the Mets, but they are still in the rebuiliding phase - especially with their pitching staff. Definitley their weekest spot this year.
