Return to DiscussionsAlthough I have not visited many clubs in the past few years, when I was very active with nudist politics, my then wife, children and I visited nearly 100 nudist parks and clubs. We discovered that regardless of the vigilance of the management, invariably there was a group of swingers at almost every club. The overwhelming majority of these groups were discreet. Someone would approach, ask questions and if the responses were unfavorable, the swingers vanished and left the newbies alone. Sometimes they did not take the negative hint and were more assertive--like they seemed to be in your case.
A firm NO was always suffice and ended the conversation.
On rare occasions, we ascertained that the club was really a haven for swingers. In those cases, we packed and left--after informing management of our displeasure.
Unlike bill we just visit clubs or resorts on vacations. far too many folks believe nudists sites are for sex parties and swingers. we just like to see and be naked with folks. most times we do not get approach for are upfront why we are at that place to begin with, like an advertisement. i guess there is always 2 sides of the street and well we stay on ours............
We've been "surprised" at the "takeover" of a resort and were unaware, only once. We kept to ourselves because that's not for us. It made my wife uncomfortable and so we just found someplace else to hang out where the swingers weren't in such high numbers. I'm certain that there are swingers in our club but they seem to keep their activity to themselves or underwraps for the most part. We haven't witnessed any of that activity when we were there. I think there needs to be some mutual respect from both parties. Since that surprise, I too ask others about their experiences at certain resorts or clubs before our visit and then I'llcall and ask the office if there are any "special"large groups attending the club during our stay. If they ask me ... "what kinda groups, I tell them."
I have thought about my wife and I going to a couple of nearby (within 200 miles) resorts. We live in Columbus, Ohio. Does anyone have any experience with any of the resorts within the Ohio border or states that border Ohio?
Nudist parks I can recommend - none are resorts:
Cedar Trails, Peebles; Green Valley, Bath; Alpine, Millersburg.
Nonlanded clubs I can recommend: Northcoast Naturists, Have Sun will Travel, Great Lakes Sunseekers. They can have events wherever their members are.
Which states are you interested in? You can go to www.naturistsociety.com and click on network and www.aanr.com and click on Find a Club or even go to locations on this site.
This is very troubling as there should be no swinging,
propositioning, our side of the street and their side of the street
at aNUDIST club. If any of this happens it should immediately
be reported to the management. If the management does not take care
of the problem immediately, you should leave and never return there
again. Also if this problem is not corrected by the management or
continues to re-occur please notify AANR, Naturist Society, or any other nudist organizations that the club is associated with, so they may take appropriate action. As a member and officer of an AANR travel club affiliate I am sorry to hear of your troubles, and that there are clubs out there operating under the false pretense of being a NUDIST CLUB, but operating as a sex club, swinger club, etc. As any real NUDIST will tell you, being aNUDIST has nothing to do with sex of any kind. Before every jumps up and down and starts with the NUDIST have sex, yes they do absolutely. But, they do not have sex because they are NUDIST, nor do they have sex in public because they are NUDIST, and they don't swing, or have gay sex, etc. because they are NUDIST. Just like textile people normal sexual activities is behind closed doors, and with consenting adults. Just because you are at a NUDIST resort and are NUDE does not change the rules, there should be no propositioning, sexual activity in view of anyone else. If you are going NUDE to have sex or are visiting NUDIST resorts have sex you are in the wrong place!!!
I am very protective of my wife and I always research resorts before going there for the first time. It took her a while to get comfortable with social nudity; so I avoid any potential setbacks like the plague.
Last year she really wanted to try a couples-only B&B; so I was on "high alert." My wife can be very friendly, open and social; and I didn't want anyone to "misinterpret" her. I was ensured by the owner that sexual activity was verboten, but I still "scanned" the other guests' behavior as we socially engaged with them; and specifically how they "looked" at my wife when she was openly naked in front of them (discreetly of course). And I stayed right by my wife's side until I was able to fairly ascertain that the other guests had no prurient interest in my wife. Not to say that was ever their intent.
Maybe I'm overly cautious but I've been able to avoid any "incidents." And we now stick to the same venues where we're confident we won't be "propositioned."
Not so much now but I felt I needed to buffer and protect Luann from the onslaught of her being hit on. Years later she has got her feet on the ground now in this naturalist lifestyle. We went to our club to start opening up our place and there was a new chap visiting there walking around so we stopped our golf cart ride to welcome him.
Long story short cause he was a real talker that took no breaths in between sentences and delved into about a single guy being invited to swing here with couples. I got the drift he was interested in Luann and I let her take the helm. She was kind as she always is and handled it well. I just sat there thinking you go girl! Her comment afterwards to me was "I get the impression all newbies think all new want to be nudist think we are all are swingers. "
