Locker Room Nudists
People that go totally naked in the locker room without the need to hide themselves with a towel.
A social gathering place
Return to DiscussionsSome people rush into the locker room, get changed as quickly as they can, and rush back out. For the rest of us, though, I feel like the conversation really begins to flow once the clothes come off! There's something liberating about being in the buff, talking among old friends, and making new friends. And the locker room provides a natural environment for this.
Just my two cents!

Agreed. And after a good workout and a shower I was always the guy walking around bullshitting with the towel around my neck.
I have never been in that many locker rooms but it sounds great to me. Us old farm boys did not go places that had locker rooms. All we had was a huge tub in the back yard and all the cars passing by could see us taking our weekly bath... None ever stopped in to visit though...... Of course this was 55 years ago, and we did not have indoor plumbing.
I also agree. When I go to the gym, I always take my time to shower in the open gang shower. I have talked with guys in the shower and locker room nude before many times. I love going to a Korean spa called Spa World. In the locker room is what many call a bathhouse. It has a sauna, showers, steam room, cold tub, bade pool, kids tub and 3 hot tubs. All have to be nude to enter this area of the spa. The women have the same thing in their locker room. There are towels by the entrance door to use to sit on but never to wrap around you since they are too small to do so. I talked with many guys in there. It is so relaxing and never have to worry about someone getting mad because you are walking around nude since all are walking around nude in there. LOL
I noticed a huge change when my gym remodeled. The gang shower used to be a very social place. Now we have cubes and almost everyone closes the curtain. Really killed the camaraderie.
The other change is they added a row of lockers down the middle of the room. It used to be one big open space, but now it is cut up. Again, much less chatter in the changing area.
Gym is just starting another remodel. Haven't seen the plans but based on what I saw at another location, it will be even less social. Too bad really

I've been finding it's the perfect place, too, to take the next steps toward finding comfort with being naked around others. I grew up with a lot of shame attached to nudity, and I'm still finding that it creeps up every now and then. Being a gay man, it probably has to do with having a little fear of others' homophobia... and what I think they think I might be thinking.
But what I've been finding is an ever-increasing seemingly-comfortable group of guys. And I like that my instinct to immediately cover my groin when someone's gonna see me is gradually slipping away.
I still find it tough to participate in open conversation w/ most guys... primarily because I have zero interest in sports. But I've been pleasantly surprised by unsolicited compliments I've received & general kindness I've seen in the locker room since becoming a more frequent user.
I agrre
i luv takin of my clothes slowly, sweaty socks and socks aside........towel in my hand and swinging my way slowly to the showers exposing my naked manhood and semi cock............i truely like it being watched and checked up while slowly heading to the gym showers..........while in the publich shower luv a guy helping me scrub my back
I have to agree on a few points. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. While I (obviously) have no problem being nude in the locker room or shower area, I'm in the minority. A lot of the guys my age (44) and older can be found nude, those under 40, and even more so under 30 are - with few exceptions - the ones who either wear their shorts or towels consistently.
That said, there is a fantastic, authentic Russian steam/sauna I go to near Boston once a month (men only almost every day), where its almost exclusively nude, particularly in the sauna, the steam room, and the showers in between. Guys of all ages (college aged through retirees) gather, meet new and old friends, and talk about almost anything. Its a great non-sexual environment where guys can hang naked and just be guys with no inhibitions or judgment.
I now live in a small town and the gym here does not even have a locker room or shower. So, as yet I haven't joined. Even worse, there is another gym in town that established a female only section where the guys can't even go! No male only section.
