Locker Room Nudists
People that go totally naked in the locker room without the need to hide themselves with a towel.
The new generation(s)
Return to DiscussionsIts interesting how the younger guys change with a towel wrapped around their waist. Many dont even shower anymore. Others create barriers with the locker doors. I dont know if its a shame issue or what but they seem to have a sense of disdain towards those of us who Dont mind being completely naked while we change. I wrap and a towel when I go to the shower because I want to be respectful of others. Theres also been somebody shame issues, but I try to work through that.
Its just interesting how things have changed
On a funny note, one of my straight close friends made an observation/question. He said at his gym he sees a lot of older naked men in their 60s and 70s and his question was when I get older will I have a little mushroom dick? Lol. He said all the older men look like they have a 1 inch mushroom there. I thought it was funny that a straight guy noticed it. And he is totally straight. Hes just very secure.
I really don't think about it. A men's locker room is a mans space. One of the few places men are allowed these days.
I am of the generation where we showered in gang showers and male nudity was natural after a gym session. You learned to deal with it. Some of us were nudist at a young age and it was a natural space to be naked.
I am also of the generation where I go naked in the locker room from the shower as I dry and to get dressed. I seek no one's validation or approval. If you are uncomfortable with this, most places have separate rooms where you can shower and change.
My dad taught me not to be ashamed of myself not my package. He taught not only saying it but living it by being nude in front of me at the locker room at the YMCA or even at the house changing and showering together when in a hurry. Changing into our swimming trunks in the same room facing me. It was those times got me prepared for locker room at school and the military. He was into sports as a kid and was in the Army in 70 to 72 both had open bay showers. I prepared for it.
