Home for Nudists

Return to Discussions

Is there any differences between home for nudists and non nudists? Most of us live in a non-nudist home. We make several adjustments on our houseto fit with our lifestyle. We close our windows treatment / curtain for privacy. We put high fence for our naked sun tanning. We put a sign at front door saying "nudists live here."
If you have a chance to design or build a home for nudists, what would be the most important thing to be considered? Should the windows be bigger or smaller? Should we have inner courtyard for outdoor privacy or tall fences? Should we have outdoor hot tub or jacuzzy?
How about gardening for nudists. What kind of garden should fit the nudists? Is it a terrace / pot garden with half closed railing or just an open space with high fences around?
How about indoor doors? Do we need doors for privacy? What's called privacy in the world of nudism?
If you live in an apartment or condominium, what kind of adjustments did you make to fit your nudist lifestyle?
What do you think?

Some people like Air Conditioned and some natural air flow. One thing that we care is mostly humidity. As we know being naked help us to cool off and let our skin to breath. But for some people when the humidy is high, they tend to sweat easily. That's where towels should be handy. Fresh towels storage should be located near the seating area.
Is it better to have leather or fabric covered seats? Which one is better for nudists? Do we need towels to sit on?
How about the floor, do you prefer hard surface like wood, concrete andtiles or soft surface like carpet andrugs? Are you going towalk bare foot or wearing sandals in house? Try bare foot and walk or run on fresh grass. The grass feeling on your feet makes you feel free and naked already. Sometimes being bare foot in house can add the bareness of our naked body.
These are things to be considered if you try to make your home nudist friendly.

Elevated house is ideal for nudists. Other thingyou can do to have the same results is to have half window treatment so the view is only the top part of the window. Having private front patio would be nice, soyou can sit outside or answer the door naked without being seen from the street. 3 feet height bushes should be good enough for privacy.
I do have a very simple outdoor shower which I use after doing all dirty garden work. It is good so I don't have tocarry in all the dirts and soil into the house or worst into the bathtub / shower. Usually I take shower outdoor before entering the house after my yard work. I use it more often during summer time. It is refreshing actually to take outdoor shower in summer time.It is not totally private but it is good enough.
What you need for outdoor shower is water line. You can hang a real shower head or just a regular garden hose with the spread head. You can put some wood shelf for soap and brush on the side. For the floor you can put regular bricks with a little slope so the water can flow nicely to the garden. For the wall / privacy fence you can put wood / metal trellis and covered with bamboo fence covered which you can buy at any home imporvement store. 3 or 4 feet height fence shoud be enough. You can also plant bushes surrounding the the shower. That's much better looking outdoor shower.

An outside shower is nice bonus, for nudists and non-nudists alike. They are common at beach houses here.

Should nudists have a coat hanger close by the entry door, so they cancover up witha robe to answer the door? Or maybe not, so they would answer the door naked?

If you want to answer the door naked, don't put coat / robe hook near the door.

My house is nude friendly, by acident. The front looks out on grassland. The back is surrounded by houses. I would be overlooked by 7 houses. But mine was built first and I planted a tall tree every time another house was built. The treesblock my view of each house. In the process they block my neighbour's view of my back garden and windows.
