Guy Camaraderie

Closeness among guys is central to GC. Hello! My name's Ryan, the founder of Guy Camaraderie. We welcome guys from any background. Whether you identify as straight, gay, bi, or otherwise, there are no expectations or criticisms here. Please allow me to give you a brief overview of the core concepts and philosophy of Guy Camaraderie (or GC for short). The central focus once again is closeness...

What is normal?

I'm going to make a guess here that most of you have seen other naked men in some form or fashion. I've been to numerous nude beaches, campgrounds, resorts, and venues so have definitely seen my fair share. I've also seen nude men in adult situations whether online, in video, or in real life. Something I've come to be bothered by is that all the penises we are given in adult entertainment seem to be well above the size and shape of what I see in real life. It bothers me only in the sense that I wish they would portray more of the mean and less of the extreme. Sure, a big penis is fun to look at but I prefer my naked guys more...life size.

What do you think??

I think it's something you shouldn't let bother you or let it bother you less. We live around a bunch of simple people and instead of them thinking about the person, they're thinking about the penis. We all have our attractions but if you idolize, obsess over dick and you don't find personality to be important because all your mind is on is dick, you're a pretty shallow human being.

Whether it be male/female hetero/homo, you can't fix people. If they want to get wrapped up in sh** that's unimportant in life, that's their problem. It's better you associate yourself with people who are not so simple.

The key to your post is that you are referring to the entertainment industry.
The actors in the movies are paid for what sells. Therefore, the producers are searching for what people want.
Amateur vids would probably include the more average guy like us.

RE:What is normal?

Society has led us to believe bigger is better. It doesn't matter if it is breasts, penises, muscles or meals (Can I McSupersize that combo for you?) The entertainment industry sells perfection as the new reality. But look at any nudist resort or beach (look, don't stare) and you begin to see reality. Some of us are still struggling to accept our own bodies after years of humiliation in the locker rooms of our schools.

Bottom line is your eyes are open to the truth that we all come in different sizes with no one size better than the other.

I get a kick out of what porn portrays. It's not only not normal, but cartoonish. Porn does the same thing to men's penises as the Simpsons does to stupid white small town dads. Just think that Homer's the porn star and laugh. It's entertainment afterall.

I saw a local production of "The Full Monty" last year (yes, they got naked) and heard a line that I don't think was in the movie:
Horse: I'm just "average".
Jeanne: So is everybody else, that's why it's "average".

Other's have already made the most important point, the porn / entertainment industry produces what sells.
But then we get into a catch-22 situation: are people really that interested in what's being presented in the videos or have they been brainwashed by the majority of what's produced to believe that what's in the videos is what they should find interesting.

In the parody song "Everyone's Free to Get Sunburned" Cledus Judd says "Don't read porno magazines, they WILL make you feel inadequate".

Rely on your experiences as a nudist that men come in all shapes and sizes. And all are respected and appreciated.

How is this helpful? Our culture is materialistic, objectifying and it engages us in routine dehumanization of self other and groups. The psychology of penis insecurity is deeply entrenched in how we raise (or fail to) male and female children, the layers of body shame and fear of inadequacy, reinforced by a competition model of life that gets very little unpacking or pushback.

Those who fail to transcend this nearly solid wall of misdirection aren't simple. Getting over the shit life slings isn't some revelation, it's luck, hard work, your circumstances and education plus other factors. If we can't help or fix people how did you gain knowledge? Or are some more flawed than others?

In one line those obsessed are shallow but in another virtue is dumping people for new people who are free of flaws and ignorance. Is that helpful? Perhaps I too am simple.

My penis is pretty average or below average. But I usually see all sizes when I'm at nude resorts or at the korean spa or in the showers at the public pool. Sometimes its a bit embarrassing when I'm the smallest guy in the room even if I'm not the youngest. But I get over that pretty quick. They're just as curious to see my foreskin regardless of the size of my penis though.
