Are gowns necessary?

Return to Discussions

I've aways wondered if a patient (say, for a physical) could forgo the paper gown? I've always felt awkward trying to keep the damn thing on. I'd honestly be more comfortable without it.

RE:Are gowns necessary?

I asked my Dermatologist If the gown was for their benefit or mine. After all I was going to be totally examined and pearing around the gown was a bother. Further, as a nudist, I wasn't shy. The nurse & doctor answered it wasn't a requirement and I've been going sans gown ever since.

I agree. I'm handed a paper sheet to use and I really don't know how I'm suppose to use it since they are going to see all parts of my body.
