Return to DiscussionsAs Naturalists it is incumbant on our claims of living that we seek to better our world through Green techniques. We must first change ourselves and how we do things which is the most powerful change, then subsequent change will follow. I hope this group will be able to grow and help one another.
Here, here sailor, won't repeat my reply to skinnydipper's post but I guess the same sentiment applies. A small change by the 7 billlion would amount to a colossal difference. Just a little thought could lead to major change.

As a life-long nudist growing up in nudist colony with a Viking Father and a High Priestess for a Mother, several of the things that i learned to do that help me live a "Cleaner" life are learning how to make house cleaners/laundry detergentsthat use natural items; make soaps and of course candles.
YES, learning how to make these things we all use daily does take more time than just going to the store BUT the rewards are phenomamal, AND you have a much smaller footprint on the planet; so isn't all the effort worth it?
What in particular would you like directions fo "Salor1"?
Some of the mixtures/formulas are detailed and some are rather simple. The gousehold cleaners and laundry detergents are not so bad, but as for making candles and soap; those directions are detailed and would take allot of space to post.
If others here would like details on the soap making and candle making, that I could sit down and lay the details out here. There is allot of money in the up front supplies plus having a dedicated room for both with proper ventilation and humidity control for proper "curing" of both soap bars and candles to consider as well. Also something to ponder: what quanities of either do you wish to do? Is it going to be worth your time and money up front to do? You need to have the time, where-with-all and initial "green" outlay to even start.
All elliments to ponder if soap or candle making are what you wish to do.
I have a dedicated room with special ventilation and a climate-control room next to the main room for both and spend about an afternoon or more once a month doing both. The place where i live had the two rooms that I could convert specificly for this effort or i would've re-considered the outlay and convertions to the rooms, but this was MANY yrs ago and i do not know what it would cost now-aday.
