Actually, the Ed Sullivan Show was the first time I saw a lot of entertainers. Just about everyone who became famous during that period was exposed on that show.

Anyone remember how the Ed Sullivan Show was used in the movie, "Bye Bye Birdie" ??? It was a hilarious bit with Paul Lynde.
