Return to DiscussionsI love Flip Flops i have so many Havaianas at home i wear them always in summer to go out, for beach and all. My husband too.I love also Birkenstock i have of any color :D
haven't heard of Birkenstock in years in fact didn't know they still made them, i'll have to look them up as i had a pair way back when.
oh and discover why my .75 cent were such a deal , at camp i decided to walk the trail no mountain to climb as pretty flat but half way around the little tong between my toe on my left foot pulled out i'm amazed i didn't trip over myself. i'm still clueless if they can pull out why can't i ever get them back in , well 5 pair left think i'll just wear them around pool, hot tub and shower . i do like the cheap ones when nude because them seem almost invisible they are so thin .

Same as you i love my Havianas, they are the best flip flops and i have lost of different colour ones, also love my Birkenstocks they are so comfortable to wear
Nudists who wear shoes or shoes and socks instead of flip flops have always confused me. I want my feet and toes to be as nude as the rest of me!
well flip flops are great but often time impractical , i've tried to drive in them and a few times went hiking in them but as i've said in past they would get caught in the pedal or half hang on my foot and hiking sure if level ground nice path but don't climb in them . i wear them at home and often in out in yard in them light work sure but i think i've mentioned my slip and fall here .
I never drive in them. Just flick them off and drive barefoot. If you've never done it, it only feels weird for the first five minutes, then you're fine.
My normal driving attire in warmer weather is shorts and nothing else. My wife used to complain about me driving barefoot. Once I offered to put my sandals (with straps on) and take my shorts off. She hasn't complained since!

I drive in them when driving a automatic, but prefer to drive barefoot when using a clutch, maybe they are more prone to slipping when using a clutch
I was always ambivalent at best about flip flops at a nudist venue...honestly, wearing anything at a nude beach or resort makes me self-conscious. However, since moving to Florida, I've embraced the necessity of some kind of footwear when I'm walking on splintery boardwalks/beach ramps, or on gravel and hot concrete at a lot of resorts.
I used to also feel like it was absurd to pay more than a few dollars for flip flops, but I've grown wiser in that regard as well, haha. I really like the Cobian brand. They are comfortable and provide really great support while not being too "fancy" or casual. Easy to clean too and they last a long time. My better half likes Hey Dudes brand...they are nice and pretty comfortable, but a little too "sporty" for me.
