Linux Anybody
Return to DiscussionsOf course! My main media/file server, my two home theatre PCs and my netbook all run Ubuntu.
I still use Windows on my two other computers (although one is dual boot). I need Windows for work, and it still beats Linux for high-end gaming.
Usabilty and hardware support on Linux is now superior to Windows, for my needs at least. Windows 7, AKA Vista SP2, is OK, but nothing specialI certainly wouldn't pay for it, or purchase a system with it pre-installed.
about 15 years ago I put red hat on an older system and liked it quite well but was disappointed over the lack of programs, slowly quit using it. but it still runs.
about three years ago I started running Ubuntu, Have been quite satifed with it.
I have been using Open office, Thunder bird and Fire Fox cross plat form with windows and now only run win for one bussiness program
and everything else on linux.
