Aside from being naked?
Return to DiscussionsHard to say. The freedom of not hiding who you are. Like on the beach, in the pool or hot tub. No suit to be bothered with. I have seen people freezing with a wet suit on. I am all ready dry and warm. Theres shrinkage but oh well. lol. Oh naked hugs are the best!
The most interesting thing about being nude/a nudist/ visiting nude places; has got to be the people you meet. I naively bought into the notion that ALL nudists are friendly, welcoming and accepting. over 26 years ago when we first began the social aspect of our nudist lifestyle, that may have been true but it quickly changed the more places we visited. Friendly people are friendly people. Cliquish people and some groups are not friendly. People with prejudices, rudeness and hostility toward others happens in the nudist community just as it does in the textile community. It may not be as rampant but it's only because the nudist community is so much smaller, but it's there.
The best part of being naked; the freedom and normalcy of it. It just feels right. Aside from that; the friends, good friends you make is why we continually visit nude places to meet new people. Some are not people that we're going to form a friendship with but are fine to visit with, maybe got out to dinner, share a pizza and bottle of wine at our fav resort. Some, like those we've become good friends with, are people we have lots in common with. We communicate regularly and try and see one another as often as we can. Nudism brought those close friends to us. We would never have found them if not for social nudism.

You hit the nail on the head Andy. I have met some interesting people at the nudist resort. I found the people at the nude beach a little more reserved though. Maybe it's just me or the fact that I'm a solo male nudist may put some couples off. Can't do anything about that.

We've encountered both and made acquaintances with both and ended up friends with a few, at the nude beaches near us. One couple in particular, we became friends with and spent quite a bit of time together for a while but in the end, nudism was all we had in common. They didn't have a private backyard though their property was 4 times the size of ours. They came to visit and enjoy our privacy on occasion.
Met the same type of people you have while visiting one nude beach alone and during the week. When I'd see the same couples on the beach during the weekend when my wife could join me, they were nicer/friendlier. It was the same at our club until my wife finally retired and she was there with me all the time. Funny how some nudist people can be. That's why I never bought into the whole; "nudists are the friendliest people" BS. :DDD
Enjoy your weekend buddy!
