Return to DiscussionsI would love to do this, it is so comfortable, and I love fresh air. I always drive with the windows down, and the A/C can never keep up. But,
I am far too paranoid about getting pulled over. While I understand that here in Ohio it is not "against the law", if they ask you to get out of the car, then - busted.
The few times I have driven nude, I have carefully concocted a "plausible excuse" such as my clothes all got soaked at the car wash (complete with a pile of soaked clothing, and a recent car wash trip). But, of course, that requires preparation, reduces spontaneity, and I am still way too paranoid.
Do others go through this? Do you have a prepared excuse? Just curious....
I am also somewhat afraid to drive nude in towns and more populated areas. So... most of my nude driving is on country roads. Sometimes it is a good thing that I have a functional GPS in my truck. It is too easy to get lost out in the country.

I was afraid of driving through towns but ended up driving into a busy market town where I had to stop by busy pavements (sidewalks) for pedestrian crossings. I had no problems whatsoever in spite of the hundreds of people who might have noticed my nudity.
I keep a pair of shorts handy that I can quickly put on. I drove down Seawall BLVD in Galveston a couple evenings ago with the windows down on my way to a textile beach that you can drive down to the water. I put on a thong when I got there then take that off when dark and crowd has dissipated. Again keeping shorts close at hand should someone approach.
I say it is easier for men to drive naked then a woman. I live in a high/very busy all the time road. We only have one road out here. Well side roads as well but they are into neighborhoods.
I am ultra paranoid to be naked in my car because of how busy the road is now maybe if I was in a taller vehicle and the windows are darker I may be able to pull it off.

This did happen to someone on here. The officer was fine talking to him naked in the car. The officer then asked him to step out of the car.
His response was to just ask the officer to wait until he put on his shorts. The officer was fine with this, but did point out that if he had not put his shorts on first, he would have been done.
I don't *know* if this would work for ladies too, but it should do. If not, then it'd be another good cause for the "free the nipple" campaign

I do wonder if this is actually worse than just admitting that you like driving naked. This is very straight forward and plausible whereby having an excuse could look dodgy
I drive naked regularly here in the UK and many other European countries. And I've been seen but only a few times. I feel no need for an excuse and often have no cover within reach (for an extra buzz).
I wish the US was as tolerant of casual nudity as the UK and parts of Europe. Would drive nude most of the summer with the top down!
If driving naked would be a source of great stress then it's not worth it. It won't be pleasurable while doing it, even if it is in the imagination. You don't need a rise in blood pressure :-). I do it often in the US but it's generally on rural highways and interstates, and after much deliberation on the likelihood of being pulled over without an opportunity to slip on the shorts that I keep in arms reach (the likelihood is very very low for me). I wouldn't be driving around on surface streets in an urban area. Could be construed as flashing.
Hope you can come to terms easily with your dilemma.

That was my summer. I Donald Duck anyway (where did that name come from) so as soon as it was warm enough for people to go topless I did. It became the norm for my daily commute home.
I do agree with the point about it not being fun if it causes stress. There was the odd stressful moment when queueing in slow traffic, but then that would be stressful anyway. The slightly higher stress from being naked was more than compensated by the increased comfort of not being dressed.
Even in queueing / standing traffic nudity is still possible. As I've said before I was stuck on a closed M1, and then spent a hour with everyone else crawling round the Leeds outer ring road at less than walking pace. Nobody noticed
