I was very very plesantly surprised, with the size of the beach & the quality.....
We arrived at the Strete Gate car park @ around 11:30 am ...& looking at the bn.org site the directions were spot on.
200 metres from the car park are the public toilets - with a sign saying 'from this point on you may see Naturists'
Well I was extatic - to no I was at the right place!!!!!
So myself & my friend walked the very fine - shingle beach - which was quite deep underfoot.
Not knowing said beach we walked - to virtually the very end...which took us about 25 mins.... ..
The depth of the beach & cleanliness was fabulous...
Me being me, constantly checking the weather report - knowing & hoping that @ about 2 - 2 o'clock - the sun would show its face....
Prior to this I still dropped all my clothes...which was heavenly....
We didn't see any other nudists, a lot of dog walkers though.... I would so so recommend this beach to any other 1st time naturists.
Well I'm going back today for more...sunshine booked for 1pm ...I hope :) Ryan x
I'm very much hoping to get down to this beach over the summer months.
It is a bit of a drive from Exeter but from what I have heard it is well worth it. Budleigh is my usual port of call, so going somewhere a little different would be great.
I have to ask tho, what are the parking charges? If any? I know places in Budleigh I can park for free all day, with just a short walk to the beach, so knowing if I need to take shrapnel and roughly how much would be amazing :)
If you get there early there was about five free spaces as you turn of the road towards the car park if you have to pay in the car park it was a bit pricey I recall,but if you willing to walk a bit there was a few free spaces up the hill towards slapton itself.
