Return to DiscussionsI have streaked to the curb ( about 60ft ) to get the morning paper for many years. No matter the temp or amount of daylight.The coldest it has been was -18F and it has been mid afternoon in full daylight. I do live rural but there is always a bit of risk of a car coming around the bend, its sound hidden by a windy day. At times I have walked out as the delivery guy was pulling away. So far no complaints.
During the winter, I can do this but most of the time, it's too
light out to pick up the newspaper while naked. We've gone to
getting the newspaper on Sundays only. The newspaper delivery
person is so sporadic with delivery time that sometimes the papers
don't get here til 9:30 am. Our neighbors seem to be very tolerant
of our nudity but don't want to push it that far! hahahaha
Our newspaper is thrown onto our front porch, so it could 1 to 15 feet from the front door. When it's close to the door, I could reach out and grab it. I got bolder with time and walked outside to get it when I could see that it was about 10 feet or less. I would venture out the front door only in the dark to retrieve it until my neighbor across the street told my wife that I'm not the only one in the neighborhood that is up at 6:15 am. I have since changed my newspaper retrieval habits, sadly.
Our newspaper delivery was cancelled a few years back due to cut
backs. I have to collect it at our community mail box 2.4km
away so I no longer can go out to the end of my drive to collect it
nude. In the summer I do take the garbage out nude and if I
feel like collecting the empty pail the next morning I do so nude.
If I'm retrieving it during the day it is after returning from town
in my car. I get dressed to go into town.We are having an early
spring with morning temps at 8C. When it gets to 10 and over
I will return to putting the garbage out in the nude.
