Return to DiscussionsI've had a few chances to play naked in the snow and it was soooo much fun! I bought snow shoes and I'm looking forward to hiking nude in the snowy mountains. Somehow, when I'm nude in the snow it's not as cold as people think it is. Have you ever played naked in the snow and did you also discover that you didn't feel very cold? Did you get any nude pics while playing in the snow?
Exhilarating! Helps you feel how alive our largest organ with our body's largest network of muscles. The body knows how to respond in diverse environments: Sweating in heat or shivering in cold until your internal organs acclimate. It's like tasting Nature!
For years I couldn't stick more than my feet in a 65 cold plunge. Now I can sit for 20-30min in a 60-65 cold pool and feel 120% energized afterward. It's good to have super hot 102 steam or dry sauna nearby to help exercise the skin in the other extreme at the local Korean public baths. The tiny muscle in our skin need exercise just like the largest ones (glutes, quads, biceps, etc.).
Naturists Wim Hof and others suggest occasional cold exposure helps prevent heart disease and other ailments. It makes sense and also feels good, though it's an acquired taste for those accustomed to suffocating their bodies with clothes.
Arrector Pili Muscle ... tiny muscle that attaches to the base of a hair follicle at one end and to dermal tissue on the other end. In order to generate heat when the body is cold, the arrector pili muscles contract all at once, causing the hair to "stand up straight" on the skin.
Look at my profile. I don't know how to move them here. There are a couple of photos of me trying to make a snow angel in very meager snow. Fun to try though. Wife took the photo for me, laughing the entire time.
