I am a flight attendant, so I am in hotels all the time (mostly all over the US). I am usually extremely careful. Making sure there are no hallway cameras (only the newest hotels have them). I usually walk in the middle of the night, when I know most people are sound asleep or won't come out of their rooms. I always turn out the deadbolt or whatever lock is on the door, so that my hotel room is cracked open with easy access. I also always carry my room key with me in case the door shuts for some reason. It has happened once since I started doing this but, fortunately, I had my key with me.
I have always wanted to take the elevator naked, but I always forget to check for cameras when I arrive, so I don't take the risk. Plus, I don't want the sound of an elevator chiming in its arrival to wake anyone who would possibly get out and use it. However, I have taken the stairs naked and walked the hallways of floors above or below mine! That's the furthest that I've gone though.
Very rarely will I get a selfie because, I am usually in such a hurry to get in and out without getting caught. Plus, I normally don't bring my phone at all. Also, I have trouble finding a spot with enough light to capture me in a picture (I'm black, so I need a TON of light to see myself in a picture). Let alone, a suitable place to stand my phone for taking pics. Tripods are too much trouble. Selfies aren't so much important to me. I do these walks for my enjoyment and the rush I get from taking risks. However, if I come across a good opportunity to take a selfie then I will run into my room and grab my phone! Only happened a couple of times though.
Since, I travel for work, I have been recently trying to convince myself to stop risking getting caught. But now, I've been doing it for so long that I have gotten too good at getting away with it stop! Not to mention that I am perfectly comfortable being naked in public now. Now that I know there are other men who do it too, I hope I spot one of you guys walking naked down the hallway of a hotel at night so I can join you! Public nudity is so much more fun with other male friends!

There is a particular buzz in riding the hotel lift (elevator) naked in the middle of the night. I just don't know if it will stop to let someone in or, when I arrive at my floor, if someone will be waiting to get in. I've even ridden it to the ground floor where it pings and the doors open next to reception, then returned to my floor. So far I haven't been caught.

I've been wondering about this as there are so many security cameras in both public and private buildings. We're staying in a recently renovated hotel and have not noticed any cameras. My guess is the cost of wiring an existing structure outweighs the benefits in the eyes of these hotel companies.
In the past a couple of women I was staying with, including my wife, have dared me to go get ice nude. I've been chicken, but the idea has stayed with me.
Under most circumstances the cameras are no problem.
Firstly, nobody looks at the recording unless there has been some sort of incident and secondly hotel staff are quite used to seeing prople naked, both inside and outside their rooms.
Unless they are totally bigoted they will not want to make more work for themselves by doing anything about it.

That's good to hear, but how do you know? Have you worked in the hospitality industry, etc.?
I recently read a post by a guy caught by cameras being nude in hallways and outside the hotel. He was asked to leave the property in the morning.

Just by reading that you brought back an old memory from a long time ago. One of the first hotels I've ever remodeled at the hotel was full of other have wasn't it was split into two hundred rooms on one side and 175 on the other. We are on the side they had 275 rooms at night that was nobody there except for me and course the guest on the other side I would walk up and down the hallways outside on the east side of the property because there was nobody supposed to be around there almost got caught a couple times but it would have been okay. The owner was female LOL and the only reason I did walk around there like that was because the owners brother and cousins came one or Friday night to have a barbecue and basically an update on how their progress is going. It just turned into a party.
