Naked hiking I a pass time I have enjoyed
Return to DiscussionsI hike naked lots in somewhat remote areas very little chance of beening seen by anyone .I know doesn't sound very daring so far.but lately three large cougars have been taken by hunters not far from where I hike one cougar was 195lbs .the thrill is do you take a weapon or go as natural man .sometimes I am four or five miles from a weapon or vehicle. Lately with the formentioned cougars I considered bringing a bowie knife at least I am not as fast as I used to be.
The wild life isn't a threat where I hike naked. And quite often it isn't other hikers who I meet on the way. Occasionally a man may take exception, being protective of his lady friend. Meanwhile the lady is just amused. Well they don't see a naked man every day, do they!
Cougars will generally avoid people and will remain hidden, you can be within eye shot of a cougar, and you will never know they are there!
The only time they would attack a human is if they have been injured and cannot hunt, or you come between them and their young! Also, if you spot a wild animal... a ranger in Yosemite once said, "dinner runs away, but the wild animals run faster"!
